I awoke to the sound of buzzing coming from my phone. Rubbing my eyes tiredly, I groaned. 6am was way too early for pack training, couldn't they change it? Unhappy already, I got out of bed, laying my covers where I was. I wasn't bothered to make my bed right now, maybe later. I pick up my phone, and answer the call.

"What do you want Zoe?" I moan.

"What do you mean? It's your birthday, Aki. You're 17!"

It's my birthday? Wow, I didn't realise. Time has passed really, really quickly.

"Ugh. Could the celebrations wait for another year?" I put my hand to my forehead. I had a banging headache - what caused it?

"No, it can't. Anyway, you're going against Allison today."

"She's too easy, I need a challenge, Zoe."

"You do you. Get ready, it's at 7. And that's AM, remember."

She put down the call before I could reply. Really? All I wanted was a lie in. I layed out the clothes that I would wear, before going into the shower. The hot water stung some of my cuts that I had gotten from a fight on the edge of our territory. Looking at them now, they were a lot deeper than I thought, but that's fine. Us werewolves heal quickly anyway.

Stepping out of the shower, I quickly covered myself with a towel. It barely reached my knee. That was way out of my comfort zone.

When half 6 rolled around, my hair was dried, and I was in my clothes. I decided to put my hair up in a ponytail. Having my hair down was a disadvantage when fighting, it would get in the way, and I would get distracted trying to put it back behind my ear. I didn't have to wear makeup, plus, I didn't want to spend money on trying to make myself prettier when I knew that it wouldn't happen.

I walked down to the main grounds, where I saw my coach waiting for me, with everybody else. As expected, everybody was paired up with who they would be fighting. I glanced at my watch - 6:45am. That meant my match was in 15 minutes - perfect. I decided that I would change my hair into a bun. Luckily, I had the things in my bag. Within 30 seconds, I had done a messy bun. That would work for now. I stretched my muscles so that there was a small risk of injury. Sure, we heal fast. But that doesn't mean that injuries don't hurt - they hurt like hell. The next time I looked at my watch, it was 6:55am.

Coach walked over to me, with a questioning look on his face.

"Accalia?" He asked.

"Yes?" I replied. It was unusual of him to ask me things before my match.

"There's somebody interested in you. Look, he's coming over now; be nice."

I rolled my eyes. I was always nice.. to people I liked, that is. Turning my head to that direction, I see the alpha. His body was like a gods. Six pack, tanned skin, and don't get me started on anything else. He was perfection, but I didn't show it.

"Meet Accalia." Coach said.

He reached out a hand to me. "Zach, nice to meet you Accalia."

I shook his hand gently, rubbing the back of my neck awkwardly.

"Not much of a talker, huh?"

"Not really." I replied. It came out quickly.

He nodded soon after, and it looked like he smelt something. I wonder what it was? He walks over to him second hand, Tom. He mumbles something to him, before turning back to me.

"I've just turned 17 and I'm a fighter." I told him. Without hesitating, he replied with,

"Ok, well.. I've just turned 17 too, and I'm the Alpha's son."
