Today is my first day at a new school. I'm a freshman coming in the middle of the first semester. My mother and I walk into the school and pass two girls, that obviously have no since in history of clothing giving me dirty looks. We step into the front office doors and the secretary stood up,

"Oh you must be Kaitlin." she says smiling widely.

"The one and only." I say sarcastically.

My mother rolls her eyes. My mother does the paperwork and I get my schedule. By this time it's third period, and the middle of class. YAY! ... People are going to be staring at me all day.... not. I have a map of the school and I follow the longest route to Mr. Loggin's classroom. He is the Literature teacher. I knock on the door and teacher with very wide eyes comes to the door.

"Hi, you're the new student, right?" he asks, eyes still wide.

I reply with a nod. He opens the door all the way and I step in.

"Class, this is Kaitlin, she will be in third period Lit. Class for now on," he says

"Kaitlin, why don't you tell us a few things about yourself." he offers.

I clear my throat.

"Ok, um, I'm soon to be sixteen in three months, I sing and play guitar, and my name is Kaitlin Tuck" I say and smile shyly.

The teacher shows me to my seat. Third row from the door and forth seat back next to a taller blonde girl with light freckles in a bright red crop top, and high-waisted shorts.

"Hi, I'm Lora" she says smiling.

"Hey, I'm Kaitlin, obviously." I say smirking a little. She laughs slightly.

"You're funny, um, I can show you around, if you are okay with that." Lora says curiously

"Oh that's okay I already have a map and know where to go." I say and give a fake smile.

"Oh, okay" she says and smiles.

I sit in awkward silence for the next twenty-three minutes with people staring at me and the teacher.

The bell for fourth period rings and I head my way down the hallway and to the left to find my locker on the right. I have a few notebooks and a ton of binders. I put my things in my locker and head to the counselor's office to get my books. I go to the office and ask for Mrs. Erickson. She then walks into the room and she tells me to follow her into her office.

"Hello Kaitlin, I heard you are the new student and you need your books for the classes you're taking." She says joyfully.

"Yes ma'am, I need them soon." I say without emotion.

"Why in such a hurry?" She asked curiously.

"Because, I had perfect grades in my old school and would like to keep it that way." I explain.

"Oh, okay, well why don't we get you set up then." She says smiling widely.

"Okay, ummmm... What period do we go to lunch 'coz I'm hungry 'coz I skipped breakfast." I ask politely.

"You would be able to go to lunch this period, there are three lunches, A lunch, B lunch, and C lunch. It depends on what time the class that you're in to see what lunch you go to. But I believe you are in A lunch." She says.

"Okay, thank you." I reply.

'Thank Jesus' I mumble under my breath because I'm starving.

I get my books and head to my next class, which happened to be right next to my locker. Biology... uhg! I hate Biology it was my worst class at my old school. I had a C+ in that class. I walk into the classroom and there was no teacher in sight. I notice Lora in the far corner talking to some of her friends. I walk over to her and she says hey.
