The snow drifted through the air and fell onto the grass below. The wind blew and the trees danced. I stared through my frosted window, looking at the moonlight shining from up above. I crossed my bare arms across my body and hugged myself, trying to find warmth. The goosebumps from the cold air, reminded me of the night it all happened. The night my home and kingdom was attacked. The night I lost it all.
As I wandered back towards my bed, the sound of footsteps could be heard. I quietly jumped back onto my bed and turned my body away from the door, pretending to be asleep. My chest was pounding as flashbacks from that night came to me. Someone running to my door, the screams, the blood!
My door creaked open and I tried to contain the shivers from the cold. As I squeezed my eyes shut, someone hovered over me.
"I know you're awake princess." Xavier's deep voice rumbled. Debating on whether to keep this facade up or not, I peeled my eyes open and spat, "What do you want?"
I stood from my bed and turned towards Xavier as he said, "I was just making sure you weren't doing anything stupid, like trying to escape. You know, I wouldn't want to have to teach you another lesson princess." I gulped running my hands up against my bare arms.
Xavier stalked towards me as I walked back. "Just leave me alone Xavier." I said, remembering what he did last time I was in his presence. Xavier continued to corner me, and as he reached out to grab me and restrict me from moving back any further, I ducked under his arm and ran towards the door. Before I could twist the door knob, Xavier slammed himself into me.
My body was weak from the hit and I slid tiredly down the door frame. "How many times do I have to tell you princess? I am the leader here, I make the rules and you, you obey them. Now unless you want to be taught who's the superior here, then I suggest you get your ass up and do as I say." Xavier growled whilst he hovered over me.
As my weakened body shivered from the cold, I stood up and looked Xavier in his eyes. With a smirk on his face, I spat at him. "You will never be a superior to anyone in this kingdom!" His face turned dark and angry once again. But before I could attempt to escape, he grabbed me by my neck and pushed me against the door.
"Then I guess I'm gonna have to show you just how powerful I am."
