"You are not joining with me!" Shouted Bucky.

Hi.

My name's Bailey, Bailey Buchanan Barnes. Me and my twin brother, Bucky, are having an argument about me joining the military with him. Bucky is 17. However, I am only 13 minutes younger than the snarky kid.

"Yes I am. Just because I'm a girl, doesn't mean I'm weak." I said calmly, I always win an argument.

In the end, I gave up. But I had a plan. Taking a short nap until 1:00, I sneaked out of my bedroom window and signed up to joined the military, signing up as a boy.

Getting back, I noticed my bedroom window wasn't closed like I'd left it.

"Where were you young lady?" Asked Bucky.

"Somewhere." I said, walking into my bathroom.

"What are you doing?" He asked, following me, leaning on the door frame.

"Cutting my hair." I explained, getting a pair of scissors out of the medicine cupboard.

With one swift movement, despite my brother's protests, I slashed my hair to stubble round the back and sides and inches long on the top.

"What have you done!?" He asked in horror.

"Become a boy." I shrugged it off as if it was nothing, but in reality, it hurt a lot. My mother had spent years wishing that she could have hair like mine, but, she had died, driving me to join the military to save innocent lives.

Like her's.

The next day the truck picked us up, handing us our uniforms as we drove off to Washington DC.
