I put on the sexiest and most revealing dress I had. It was a skimpy black dress that had a slit on either side of my waist, revealing a bit of my back and stomach.

I arrived at the club just before it opened, and was able to recognize tons of famous people. I would have to be careful not to go after anyone too well known. The media would be tracking them too closely.

Most of the people who weren't even in the VIP area had thousands of dollars, a lot probably were millionaires. The VIP area was full of billionaires, I wasn't even going to go there. It would be too dangerous, and that's where all the Surnames would be.

I strolled around the massive club, trying to pick out the hottest, and richest guy I could find. Someone specific caught my eye. He had black hair, and dark blue eyes. I inhaled sharply at the sight of him. He had girls crawling all over him, but none of them were any competition to me. He was the most godly looking creature I had ever seen.

I caught his eye, and he walked over to me instantly. Then the thought hit me. He had to be a Surname. No way, I pushed the thought out of my head. He would've been in the VIP section. All the Surnames would've been. All they had to do was tell the guard to let them in. It was that simple for them. There was no way he was one of them. But then again...he had the looks.

"You're a pretty little thing..." He cooed, strolling over to me.

"You're very kind, but I really should be going." I turned away, not wanting to risk the chance of him being what I thought he was.

He grabbed my wrist and pulled me close to him. "Why don't you stay a little longer and dance with me." He smirked.

I continued to make moves to get away from him, but if I was too distinct he would know in a second that I was a demon, and I'd be dead. So I played along...

He took me up to one of the massive hotel rooms, that I guessed was his. We entered the room and he pushed me down onto the bed. Another man entered the room, and I started to worry, fearing what was going to happen.

"This is Jackson. He is my servant." My prey spoke in a husky voice. The servant had blond hair and grey eyes. He was slim, but muscular.

Then I knew it for sure. He was a Surname. "You...you're a Seriph" My eyes widened. Seriph was my nickname for the bastards. In other words, a Seriph was an angel. An obvious insult to any demon.

"Correct, Sunshine. By the way, my name's Blake. Blake Mortimer."

"No..." My breath hitched in my throat, fearing what he was going to do to me. Mortimer's were the most rutheless killers in the world. "Just let me go, I won't bother you again." I shook my head.

"Oh, but that's exactly what I want you to do. You're mine now." He growled.

No. Way. This Surname had chosen me to be his Pet. A Pet was a Surname's demon mate.

I took a swing at him, which was a big mistake. He used his gift on me, and sent me crumbling to the ground, in a heap of excruciating pain. It was like my body was being ripped apart, from the inside out.

I cried out in pain, curling up, and closing my eyes. "St-Stop!" I gasped, barely able to breathe. I pulled my arm away from my body, and found that my side had split open, like I was ripped at the seams. That was going to leave a mark. Although demons healed at inhumanly speeds, there would be a bruise there for a couple weeks. It finally healed up after a couple minutes, as any wound caused by a Surname would take a longer time to heal.

"Bad move." He growled, and pushed me up against the wall, stopping the pain. He pinned his body against mine, his face too close. Our lips almost touched, and he looked at me with lust in his dark blue eyes.

"Get away from me." I spat I knew I was being stupid. I was just making him angry. If I did that he wouldn't hesitate to kill me, Pet or not.

"So you're a feisty one." He chuckled.

"I am. In bed and out." I smirked, tempting him. The pain started again, and I slumped back down to the floor, losing conciousness.
