"Pleeeeeaaasee Y/N," my companion cried directly into my ear, "we wanna come over."

Not gonna lie but this girl totally just raped my ear.

"Jae, I told you the house wasn't finished yet," I said hoping she would listen, "I need furniture."

She whined and then hung up the phone. I wasn't lying when I said I needed furniture. I went upstairs and took a quick shower. I put on (random outfit) and headed out to the furniture store down the street. I've only been there a couple times just to see what i can or can't buy. I eventually made it to the medium sized store and walked inside. I looked around to see if I saw that edgy teenager I saw last time I was here. Much to my luck, he wasn't sleeping this time. I stared at him for a while and the for like a fleeting moment he changed.

      What?

For a minute he looked like someone else. But he looked happy. Although it was just a quick second, I saw the smile on his face. It was adorable and he had these cute crescent eyes.

    Must be my imagination.

I walked around the store claiming things here and there and went up to the tired looking teen. He looked up at me his eyes laced with annoyance. He muttered something but i couldn't hear what he said.

     "Pardon?" I asked.

"I said how can I help you," he sighed heavily.

"Oh, I wanted to buy these things."

I handed him the paper with all of the items I wanted delivered to my house. He stamped it and I paid him. He told me it would be delivered next week and went back to sleep. I left the store and went to a cute puppy bakery down the street. The cute cafe was beige brown and pink and had a big window that held a "OPEN" sign. I looked up and saw a cartoon bone with the name "Lisa's Doggyria." I smiled at the sign and walked in immediately greeted with a stampede of different breeds of cuteness. I sat down at a bone shaped bench and saw a waddling little white pomeranian coming my way. I cooed and picked him up petting him softly. Then, a waitress walked up to me with a genuine smile.

"Hehe, I see Cottonball likes you," she told me with a smile, "he's my favorite too."

I smiled at her and replied, "He's so cute~"

"I know right?" she giggled, "anyway what can I get you?"

"Oh, I'll take a (drink) with (pastry)," I replied.

She nodded and headed towards the back her sneakers squeaking on the floor. A few minutes later she came back with my food with a smile. She put my plate on the table and slid the food towards me.

      "Enjoy your food!" she says.

      "Thanks, you too."

     ...

"PFFFTHAHAHA"

Oh my god, I can't believe I just said that. The waitress walked away laughing and I stood there with my head in my hands currently dying of embarrassment.

It was dark out. Quiet on the streets giving it the typical eerie feeling radiating off the streets. Since I was new here I kept looking back behind me only to find nothing every time. I must look like a maniac to anyone who must be out at this hour. I finally admitted to myself that I was just paranoid before I ran into a pole by accident. Which almost just happened twice. As I was walking I noticed a shop with its lights on.This late? I headed toward the shop and looked inside the window. It looked like a magician's paradise. There were strange black magic books and witch pots everywhere. I walked inside the shop the door making a ringing as I opened it.

When I got inside the shop was surprisingly warm. I looked around only to find more of the stuff I found at the window. I looked and saw the counter which must be where you pay at. It was decorated to look like it belongs to a witch. Now that you think about it, this whole shop does. I shivered as I almost ran into a skeleton the was taller than me when I walked further inside. I looked around only to be paralyzed by the most beautiful sight I ever saw.

     It was a painting.

     Yes, a painting.

But it was a beautiful one, I swear. Amazingly painted with a cherry blossom tree, a river filled with clear blue water, and a little bridge the runs over the river toward the beautiful green grass that holds the most gorgeous flowers I've ever seen.

     I want it.

I stared at it for a bit longer before I was interrupted by a voice.

"Beware of that painting," said an old lady's voice.

I nearly jumped out of my skin as I turned around.

What the hell? Where did she come from? She scared the living daylights out of me.

I turned around to find an old woman hunched over. She looked really old and wore clothing I've never seen before. She looked like she just came out of the woods. I was going to ask her if she needed help but then I realized what kind of store I was currently in and put two and two together. I looked into as I remembered what she just said. Her eyes held so many emotions the top one being fear. I completely ignored what she claimed and grabbed the gorgeous painting off the wall and held it in my hands in front of me. I slightly thrust the painting to her and she grimaced stepping back.

What is she so afraid of? It's just a painting. It is her shop anyway.

"I want to buy this painting," I told her half hoping she would tell me the price the other half hoping this masterpiece was affordable.

She looked up at me with her fear clouded eyes and nodded frantically. She must really want to get rid of this painting. She mumbled something under her breath and walked me over to the counter and told me the price. Luckily, it was affordable. I gave her the cash and she looked hesitant to hand me the painting. Fear was now written all over her face, now along with reluctance and her shaking body. I grabbed the painting from her getting a little patient. She snapped out her trance and looked at me. Her stare was so intense. I almost lost it when she started chanting.

Let my leave before some freaky shit starts happening.

I started heading for the door. I heard her yell something along the lines of "WAIT!" or "I wasn't...finished." but I shrugged it off and kept walking. He door jingling as I made my way out.

I eventually made it safely into my unfurnished home and I lazily walked into my room. I looked into the painting about to hang it up on the wall. However, I felt like it was...staring back at me? I looked around thinking it was one of my friend hiding in the closet or something but I searched and found nothing. I looked back at the painting. It was on the floor in the moonlight. It was under my swaying curtains. I looked outside and saw the bright moon shining.

It's getting late. I'm probably paranoid because I'm tired.

I hung up the painting and crawled into bed after putting on my bed clothes. I failed to notice the slight glow coming from the painting I thought was so gorgeous.
