Have you ever looked at the ocean at the break of dawn?
Have you ever looked at the sun as it sets?
Have you ever looked at the dew the leaves have after a beautiful rain shower?
Have you ever looked at yourself the way you looked at me?
Did you also find that same love and devotion?
I can't deny how your love and undivided attention fills me up--every corner of my heart that feels empty but I have one wish, BABY.
If you would, please don't pour all your heart on me while leaving nothing for yourself.
Don't think of loving me if you haven't loved yourself.
Don't celebrate my imperfections--my overly white skin, my habitual blinking, my shyness and awkwardness, the way I stutter in an attempt in answering questions the best that I could, and my acne scars, if the first thing that comes from your mouth every time you look at the mirror is, "I hate you".
You can always love me but not yourself.
I want you to fall in love with yourself first--all you are, your quirks and the things that you think makes you weird.
When you've done that, then I'll graciously accept your cheers more.
You think I'm inspiring you? I'm making you smile?
Maybe. But I'm sure that you did all those things to me first. I'm simply giving back what you first provided me with.
I'm here because of you--first.
Please never forget.
