Hi reader. I'm Laura as you might already know. I'm just a normal 19 year old who had their whole life ripped up and thrown away. That's why I'm here. To explain to you how this happened and why. Yes, this book may be called, When I Turned 18, but that was a year ago. I'm 19 now. And a lot better than before. Let's get to it. Imagine.. I'm 17 in this story. Two years ago, just settling in to college. Everything is fine. Well... Apart from the fact that I'm living with my dad. Sounds fine? It isn't. It really isn't. He's crazy.

Ever since my mum died when I was 9, he decided to get drunk. All of the time. I spent most of my time trying to pull up the floor boards and find multiple hiding spots incase he decided he wanted to beat me up. Sounds childish but trust me, you'd do the same. In college, I signed up for multiple activities, purposely to avoid my dad. He's gone now. You'll know why soon. I'm going to explain everything.

So.. This is how my story goes.

In college I was pretty popular. I guess you can't really say that I still am... I used to fit in. I was basically everyone's favourite or 'teachers pet' as you may like to call it. I was friends with practically everyone but I had a very close friendship group with four girls. Ellie, Ava, Mackenzie and Sienna.

Ellie. She's got to be the loudest of us five. She's just a massive burst of enthusiasm all of the time! She gets into an awful lot of trouble though... We met in the canteen. Here's why she gets into trouble. We were eating lunch in the canteen and Ellie started yelling what she was having for lunch. She got sent out of the canteen by Mrs Mirdern and it really wasn't great but we just laughed about it back then. Not anymore...

Ava. I met Ava first. She was the most dainty little student I'd ever seen. She constantly looked innocent! Ava didn't really appear to know many people when she started college so I introduced myself and took her under my wing. She was very shy but I kind of helped her loosen up. All she needed was a friend.

Mackenzie. We met in the library one day. Me and Ava were just having a look at some books and then we saw a girl. Not short but not tall either. She needed to reach a book that was quite high up and she just couldn't grab it. So me and Ava, being the nice people that we were, approached her and asked if she wanted some help. I'm quite tall so I managed to get it down for her. Our friendship went from there. Now we hang out every day. Well we used to...

Sienna. She can only be described as back-stabbing. The most backstabbing 'bestie' I ever had. As you may have assumed, we met on my 18th birthday.
