The Violet Iris -The Beginning of a Legend

An Explination

Yes, I feel it necessary to explain some things, as they will be important later.
Also this is kind of an info-dump so feel free to skip through some parts but there will be less confusion if you read the entire thing.

"The Games"
The way the throne is inherited in this kingdom/species is very different from the way humans do. The throne is given to the strongest and smartest potential heir. The children of the King and Queen must participate in "The Games" to find who is the most worthy of the throne.

The games consist of a series of test customized to be accurate and fair to the one taking it. It is usually sibling vs sibling, but sometimes it is one child against something else or just a test that assesses their mind.

For example, Ley started the games when she was 5, and her youngest sibling started at the age of only 4. These test would seem impossible for a regular Adreke child, however, through strict and intense education the children are prepared for the challenges.

Cheating of any kind is forbidden, and the use of it will lead to the death of one of the children.
The only exceptions to the games is if the safety of the kingdom is in danger and a child saves it. The child who saves it will get the thrown no matter how many games they've participated in or if they have even started.
Once a child has lost the right to the throne, they have the option of either continuing life at the palace, or living as a normal person with a something similar to a foster family. Though it is completely up to the child if the family knows of their true identity or not.

There are 15 children in total, and I'll list them and their eye color (yes that's significant) below just to be convenient;)

Their parents are Jacin and Annelia.

Eye Color

Each child has a different eye color and that color represents them. They all have rings, which serve the purpose of crowns. Their parents have crowns, but the children do not. And there is traditionally a ball before the games begin and their outfits are based on the color of their eyes.

Also, in The Violet Iris series, the Adreke (Ley's species) are related to both humans and Andelmi (another story of mine involves the Andelmi though it will most likely never reach Wattpad). They are all very humanoid for this reason, though all species have adapted to their different planets. The Adreke have a third lung, and are very sensitive to Carbon Dioxide. Andelmi have angel-like wings due to their home planet, and humans are humans. Hopefully you know the anatomy.

I may edit this later if more things need to be explained as I post writing for this. Especially once I find the paper with the eye colors on it, then I will most certainly be editing this.
