I do not own any of the characters except for Dylan. All the other Gladers belong to James Dashner.
Dylan's Point Of View
Clink clink clink
The same sound over and over again is all I heard for the past seven minutes and it has been driving me crazy! I tried to lay my head against the wall, wait it isn't a wall. It's the side of a metal cage! Okay this is starting to freak me out. Pushing the fact that I might die to the back of my mind I try to relax. I take deep breaths and look around. It took my eyes a few seconds to adjust to the darkness but as soon as they did that's when I noticed them, huge crates full of who knows what. There are at least five of them scattered everywhere each with the same logo on them. As I struggled to read the crates the box comes to a sudden stop. I took this as an opportunity to get up. I slowly got to my feet when I looked up. The light shining above me that was once red had now turned green. Then a box began to move again. At first slowly but then building up speed to the point where the pressure was pushing against my body. That's when it happened the last thing I remember was hitting my head on one of the crates hard enough that it caused me to black out. Then there was nothing but darkness.
Newt's Point Of View
I started walking to The Box where dozens of Gladers have already gathered to "greet" the new arrival. Bloody hell! Just once I would like it if Gally didn't round up all of them to intimate the new Greenbean.
As I got closer to the crowd Thomas came up behind and placed a hand on my shoulder. "Hey Newt! New arrival. I am so glad that I am not going to be the new Greenie anymore."
He's a bit happier than usual, something is up. But I suppose it must wait the Box is here. "Hello Thomas! Yep a new arrival. Although nothing special about this month's Greanbean, it will most likely be same as always." I frowned at the ground not wanting Thomas to see, it would spoil his good mood.
"I'm not so sure about that! I have a good feeling about this month's arrival. They will be special, I guaranty it!" Thomas replies with such enthusiasm it is contagious.
We finally arrive at the Box. Thomas and Alby each open one side of the Box allowing me to jump and meet the arrival. The Box shakes with each step I take looking for the fellow that will soon become part of the Glade. It takes me a while to find them up but when do I am beyond confused, surprised and ecstatic.
Then I hear a voice shout from above "Newt what is taking so long?! Did you find the Greenie? Are they alone or are there crates?"
With my voice filled with noticeable confusion I mange to say "It's a bloody girl!"
I hear gasps, whispers and suddenly shouts. I only managed to understand a few since about 50 boys were all speaking at the same time. They shouted comments like "A girl?" or "I call dibs!" or the most common "Is she hot?"
I just rolled my eyes and admired her. She was on her side with her brown hair in two French braids, she was obviously gorgeous and I think dead. Bloody hell! She can't be dead! No no no. Before I realized what I was going she was in my arms bridal style as I was running across the Glade to the MedJack Shack. Clint saw me at first his inner teenage boy unleashed and began gawking at her but his inner doctor stepped in and directed me towards an empty cot near the window. I quickly placed her down and began to panic.
I was worried sick and of course I asked a really intelligent question like "Is she dead?" As soon as I said that I mentally face palmed myself but looked at Clint waiting for an answer.
Clint took her pulse and said that it was steady which relaxed me a little. Then he moved her hair back and rushed to get a cold, damp towel. When he came back he placed it on her forehead. Clint decided to examine her for a while just to figure out if she was okay.
Clint's Point Of View
After about thirty minutes of taking her pulse, changing the towel on her forehead and drooling over her I realized she was just unconscious. Based on the small bump on her head I came to the conclusion that she must have hit her head on one of the crates. With this new found information I ran to the gathering hall to tell Newt.
I burst through the doors only to be met by arguing Leaders and a worried Newt. When they finally noticed me I explained my theory of her hitting her head to the council and they all agreed. Then Newt followed by Alby came with me to the MedJack Shack to check on her.
Newt's Point Of View
Alby decided that a gathering of Leaders was necessary to discuss the matter at hand. She was the first girl EVER to be sent up to the Maze. Almost every Leader was there. Minus Clint (Leader Of The MedJacks) who was taking care of the girl and minus Minho (Leader Of The Runners) who was in the Maze with Ben at the moment. But everyone form the inner circle was there. Alby (Leader Of The Glade), Frypan (Leader Of The Cooks), Gally (Leader Of The Builders), and I (Leader Of The Gardeners). Right now Gally had started a stupid argument about how we shouldn't trust the girl because she was different. Of course I tried to defend her explaining that we shouldn't pin the Gladers against her when we don't even know her.
Then all of then sudden Clint (Leader Of The MedJacks) burst through the doors with good news. He explained that "The girl isn't dead she is just sleeping. I found a small bump on the side of her head which indicates that she probably hit her head on one of the crates. Despite the fact that she is unconscious she is healthy and completely fine."
A rush of relief took me over. I didn't even know her but I really cared about her. I must figure out why. After the meeting was dismissed Alby and I followed Clint to the MedJack Shack to check on the girl.
