17teen year old Lauren Misty's body has still not been found. The case was reported last Wednesday when her family came home to a suicide note hanging from the fridge, and the house hold gun no where to be found. We talked to Lauren's mother to see her view on the situation.
"We just can't see what would bring her to do such a thing. We were so loving and gave her everything she could ever need. We have no clue why she would do such a thing. It would mean the world to us if the body was found, kinda like a final closer"
"Ha-yea right" I mumble quietly underneath my breath looking up at the old TV in the corner of the gas station, that had been playing the news and roll my eyes.
"Do you have an ID miss?" The big man working the counter asked.
"I-I didn't know you needed one to purchase gas" I stutter tucking my freshly dyed deep brown hair behind my ear. None of the other gas stations I had been to asked for for one.
"Uh ya we need to see your drivers license" he replied scratching his patchy beard and adjusting his tattered hat.
"Here" I mumble nervously handing him my fake License. I silently prayed he wouldn't question it.
"Alright have a nice day" he said in a wary voice giving me back my ID and change. I let out a silent sigh of relief and quickly took them and made my way back to my car.
Now I just need a place to stay...
I jam the keys in and begin to drive towards downtown LA hoping to find a cheap apartment fast. I had already planned out the budgeting in my head, so I had enough money to start me off, what I really needed was to get a job so that I could keep up with rent. Just as I turned the corner I heard my stomach growl. I hadn't had dinner yet, but I didn't think it was late at all. That was until I checked the clock which read 11:00pm.
Great. I guess I'll just have to stay at a hotel tonight.
After grabbing some take out, I parked my car into the lot of the nearest hotel before grabbing my backpack and heading towards check in.
"Hello" the lady greeted me with a huge smile on my face.
"Hi, I was wondering if you had and single queen rooms left" I reply smiling up at her. She looked down at the computer in front of here and punched a few things in.
"Just your luck, we do have one room left. It will be $105 for the night" she said and I handed her the money, in return for my room key.
"Breakfast starts at 6am and goes til 11am. The pools and gym are open from 8am til 9pm" she said before I headed towards the elevator. I thanked her before getting on and hitting the bottom for the 3rd floor.
Room 416.....
I scanned the room numbers before finally stumbling upon mine. I opened the door to find a pretty ordinary hotel room. The bed was centered and neatly made, there was a bathroom to the left of the bed and a Tv directly in front, but something peculiar caught my eye. There was another door just to the right, across from the bathroom door. I came closer to it hoping it was a closet so that I had somewhere to put my bags, but as I opened it up I realized it was a door to another room. When I opened it up there was no one in there just some bags and huge mess of food spread across the room. Even though I knew it was rude to snoop I looked around the room a little more before I heard footsteps coming close. I quickly ducked back into my room, closing the door. I heard a few voices that seemed to belong to teenage boys around my age fill the room.
I sighed, and headed towards my backpack. I didn't have much with me since I had to buy a lot of the cloths new. I did have a few shirts from home but I couldn't pack a lot because if my family noticed my cloths missing they probably would buy the hole 'dead act I had going'. Yes, you heard me correctly. Incase you hadn't caught on I'm Lauren Misty, the girl who faked her own death. Why would I do such a thing you might ask, well simple, to get away. Away from my 'oh-so loving family', if I can even call them my family. I've had a rough past and a not so fantastic childhood. So call me crazy if you want, but there was a method to all my madness, it just take the right person to see it.
I changed into my PJ's, throwing my hair into a bun. I wondered over to the mirror and looked at the girl I couldn't believe was me. I mean I hardly recognized myself for gods sake! My once shoulder length wavy blonde hair was now a deep deep brown imbedded with extensions that made my hair fall to my hip ones.. My piecing Blueish green eyes were covered up with Hazel contacts. The light freckles that once danced across the bridge of my nose were no where to be seen beneath my heavy foundation. The only thing that looked the same was short stancher of 5'2 and small, frail body frame.
You are no longer the girl you once were.....
I think to myself
this is you now.
