Day 267

White. Everything was white. The walls, the floor, the chairs and literally everything else. Bradley was sick of the color. It was the color he saw when Tristan was first brought to the hospital. It was the color he saw when he was waiting for the results of the surgery. It was the color he saw when the doctors told him the surgery wasn't completely successful and it was the color he saw when Tristan couldn't remember his own name for the first time. Dementia was the most terrible thing Bradley ever experienced a person going through. And the fact that it was the person he loved made it ten times worse. The brunette was snapped out of his thoughts when Tristan came walking down the hallway. Bradley got up quickly and walked towards him. "Hey! How was therapy?" The smaller one asked and Tristan furrowed his eyebrows. "Therapy?" He asked and Bradley nodded. "Yeah. That's where you're coming from." He explained and Tristan nodded understandingly. "I'm sure it was great." He said and Bradley smiled weakly. "Yeah..."
They left the hospital and walked towards the car, Tristan looking around like he saw the hospital parking lot for the first time in his life. When they arrived at the car he stopped and stared at it. "Are you gonna get in?" Bradley asked and the blonde looked up slowly. "Um, I don't go with strangers sorry." He said with a weak smile and the words felt like knives being rammed Bradleys heart as he walked over to him and lifted his hand. He showed him the engagement ring with his name on it. "Look, what does that say?" He asked and Tristan read it. "Bradley." He read out loud and the brunette nodded and lifted his own hand and showed him his ring. "And this?" He asked and Tristan squinted at the small letters. "Tristan." He said and Bradley nodded. A large smile formed on Tristans face. "Ah! Of course, you're my fiancé!" He said and hugged Bradley tightly making the smaller boy smile slightly. They got into the car and drove home. Bradley threw an occasional glance over to Tristan who was staring outside with a blank stare that made the brunettes stomach churn. He sighed slightly and pulled into a parking spot in front of their apartment building. Tristan got out of the car along with Bradley and they walked into the building hand in hand wich made Bradley smile slightly. The brunette unlocked the door after taking the elevator and entered the apartment. Tristan looked around curiously and Bradley sighed sadly. The blonde stared at two pictures that were hanging on the wall. They showed him and Bradley standing at the beach sharing a kiss and the other was a picture of him popping the big question to his boyfriend. He observed the look on Bradleys face and looked over at the present Brad. The light in his eyes had faded and there were bags beneath his eyes. On the picture he looked so happy and now he looked so... Broken. Tristan walked over to his fiancé and wrapped his arms around his waist from behind. He immediately saw a smile forming on the smaller boys face and he turned around in his lovers arms. Bradley cupped Tristans face in his hands. His touch was soft like he was touching his most precious possession. Tristan leaned into his touch and watched tears forming in the brunettes eyes. "What's wrong?" He asked softly as he wiped a small tear from his lover's face. "I-I want it to always be like this...", Bradley whispered painfully. "I don't want you to ask me who I am or why I'm holding your hand. I don't want you to forget your own name or how to tie your shoe laces..." He choked and a soft sob escaped his lips. Tristan felt tears welling up in his eyes at the sight of his fiancé crumbling in his arms. "I-I'm sorry Bradley." He whispered but the brunette only shook his head and cupped Tristans face in his hands.
"It's not your fault, I would never blame you for this. I love you so much." He whispered and connected their lips softly. As soon as he pulled away he saw Tristan with a bright smile on his face. "Hey Brad! How was your day?" He asked and Bradley let out a small sigh before giving him a warm smile. "It was good, what about yours?" He asked and Tristan grinned. "It was great!" He exclaimed happily before walking into the living room leaving his fiancé behind. Bradley felt a small tear falling down his cheek but he quickly wiped it away. Tristan forgot about their conversation so he should too.
