The longer I was in that van, the more I became paranoid with what they would do with me. I still couldn't comprehend what was happening. How could I be ... Lustless? Why haven't I heard of this before? Could I have prevented it if I knew what it was?
The windows were pitch black so I had no idea where we were going. But we've been on the road for hours. Wherever we're headed, it's far away from where I came from.
After what felt like forever, the van pulled into a complete stop. The driver hopped out with a grunt and her friend followed her. The van door opened and I wasn't prepared for what I saw.
The sky was filled with dark storm clouds, and I could tell a major storm was about to happen. I stood in front of the prison and all I could do was stare in awe. The building was frightening to look at, it was so incredibly dark and big, like something you would see in a horror film.
The official pushed me forward. "Let's move it, princess. Don't you want to see your little Lustless friend?"
Jeremiah! I was finally going to see him again! I hope he knows what's going on.
As I walked into this place, the interior was as scary as the outside. The room was large and my steps echoed on the concrete floor. "Health Enduring Lustless Prison" was printed on the wall in front of me. It smelled awful in here, like sweat and rusting metal. There was nothing in this room except a few chairs, but only one was taken.
"Sir, the girl is here."
The body turned around, and that's when I saw Jeremiah. He looked horrible, his hair was messed up and his face was read from crying, I inferred. His eyes widened when he saw me, but he said nothing.
A voice boomed from the sky. "Hello you Lustless little children, my name is Frank Owens. I'm the head prison guard here at this prison. I'm sorry I couldn't meet you in person, I have too many things I have to do to keep this place running. I wish I could be there to see you're expressions right now, that's one of the best parts of my job." This male laughed evilly. I wonder why he didn't sound like Jeremiah.
"I bet you're wondering, 'Why me? Why am I here? What can I do to leave?' Well, the answer to that is short and simple: you're here because you carry the Lustless gene, which is what keeps you from becoming pregnant. This gene is very rare, and we don't want this gene in the gene pool. So, we just get rid of it by keeping you diseased brats here. And no. You're not leaving, no matter what you do. I've heard it all, so don't bother giving any excuses."
I was freaking out. I'm going to be here forever? Why don't the just kill me to get it over with? Why torture us by keeping us locked away?
"Cameron, please escort Ms. Demit to her cell. Gena, do the same with Mr. Kast."
The officials dragged us to opposite sides of the room, and now the tears came to my eyes. Was this it? Am I never going to see Jeremiah again? Why me?
