As my thoughts were consumed by darkness, my eyes suddenly began to open once more. I looked around my surroundings and found that I was back in my room, back home. Such a simple word, home, and yet now did I fully understand how much I took it for granted.
Next to me, there was a young maid around my age trembling as I set my eyes on her. I tried to find in my memories what her name was, ah it was Jane. I truly couldn't understand why I treated the servants within my home with so much malice when they only ever did what I asked of them.
This time, I just want to live a happy life. I know I don't deserve another chance at life but since I have one, I don't wish to waste it.
"Jane", I said with a light tone.
"Y-y-y-Yes my milady?!", she stuttered uncontrollably clutching the side of her uniform.
"Please retrieve a piece of paper and a quilt for me".
She stood wordlessly for a moment staring wide eyed at me and I chuckled lightly at seeing her facial expressions. I never knew she had such cute cheeks that reminded of a squirrel making me want to pinch them so. But I refrained from such actions as I cleared my throat and she awoke from her current state.
She nodded and return a moment later with the items I asked for.
"Thank you".
Jane again looked confused and stared at me. I asked her for the date and which day it was.
"Milady, are you well? Shall I prepare some tea for you whilst you write?",she cautiously asked.
"Honey tea please Jane and yes I am fine, merely a bit tired is all" I responded whilst drawing a frame of the woman I was once in another life.
The reason why you could ask, I was not certain but it just felt right doing so. Jane stood attentive to the side and admired my artwork.
"Milady is blessed with not only beauty but also with the skill of a true artist." She spoke with honesty and I smiled back at her causing her to blush lightly.
Whilst sitting in my room admiring the scenery of the famous garden my home possessed I remembered the days I would force Raphael to sit and drink tea with me. I remember listing every one of the flowers which grew in the garden and the significance behind each one. I pushed those memories into the deepest part of my heart and took a shaky breath. Now I couldn't see him the same way I once did, not after everything that had happened.
"Milady, master and mistress have requested for your attendance at today's lunch".
My.......mother and father. My heart began to ache thinking of the heavy burden I placed upon them both and tears threatened to fall down my face remembering the extreme measures they took to try to save me. I gripped the side of my dress and walked towards the hall room where my family were.
In my other life, I was an orphan who never knew who her parents were and for that I was bullied and isolated from everyone else. Those memories of being alone only made me cherish my family ever more. The love and kindness they each showered me with,I will never ever take them for granted again.
This time, I'll be a good daughter and sister to you all. This time I'll be someone whom you all can be proud of.
I slowly walked through the door which Jane had opened and was greeted with a sight that both warmed and broke my heart at the same time.
Father gently held the hand of my mother as they both gently gazing at one another with so much love I was slightly envious. My second older brother, Bryce, was stuffing his face with food whilst my older brother, Derek, was silently eating his own food with perfect etiquette as usual.
