I woke up with a start.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we are now about to in land in Tokyo, Japan. local time is five o' two A.M. please remain seated until we have reached a full stop."
Japan. Never once in my life did I ever think I would come here. I re-recognized my surroundings; I was at the window seat of a plane sitting on a slick blue seat. I waited for the plane to land and stop before I got up and stretched my legs with what little room I had at the minute. I waited for the line to leave the plane to give me an opportunity to let me trough. Thankfully I was a little more closer to the front than usual. I finally made a break for it and got out into the airport.
I felt like a small cricket in a large and crowded area. Everyone was in a rush to get somewhere, maybe even more then in America. Actually, I take that back. I asked an airport attendant where the baggage claim was and he pointed me to it, and it wasn't even far away, I just didn't look close enough. Typical me.
I walked over to it and waited for my green suitcase. I already had my backpack with me and all my personal essentials. I finally got it and walked over the entrance exit area. I had to look for my name in a sea of people.
I finally did manage to see my name on a white sign held by an antrhomorphic raven man. Warren Logan. Next to him was a human women and a teenage guy with a raven's head wearing dark clothing and a red chocker. I tried not to look intimidated (which was a critical failure) and walked over to them, awkwardly raising my arm to them.
"Mr. Tokoyami?" I asked sheepishly. The raven man smiled at me and dropped the sign to the floor. "You must be Logan-Kun. Welcome to Japan." He raised his hand out to shake.
Crap, I thought to myself. I don't know what Kun means. I knew I should've taken Japanese in school. I just shook his hand with what little confidence I had left. He introduced me to his wife, who had long black hair and deep dark green eyes. and his son, Fumikage. I tried not to stare at his bird head, but he made it impossible with the way he was peering into me, like he could see my soul and decided that it would be delicious.
"So I guess you're my foster parents?" Wow, nice going Warren. You just said another stupid thing. There not your foster parents, there just the family whos taking you in while you attend UA. They don't count as foster parents. Wait... do they?
Mr. Tokoyami just chuckled. "Well I suppose so. The car is waiting, and we should get going." I followed behind Fumikage, hoping he didn't have eyes in the back of his head. We got outside, and the sun had still yet made its way past the surface yet. It was still plenty dark out, but it was extremely pretty. The city lights beamed throughout and made me feel a bit more calm. In a larger sense, it looked like home.
We piled into the car, which was a slick black sedan, with me getting into the left side of the back seats, with Fumikage to my right. Throughout this entire ordeal, Fumikage had only said one thing. "Hey." its not that it wasn't an insincere hey. But its the only thing he ever said.
This kid kinda scares me.
Throughout the car ride, Mr. Tokoyami asked me all sorts of questions about America.
"So where in America are you from?"
"Uh, Arizona. Its to the Southwest. But I was born in Washington, which is to the Northwest."
"Oh, its pretty hot there isn't it?"
"Yea pretty much. A lot of people from colder climates come down there for the summer to get more heat."
He asked me about myself
"So what's your quirk, Warren?"
"Uh, its called Animorph. I can turn into any animal by saying its name."
