Lilly

"Lilly! Get up, it's like two in the afternoon!" Cameron bellows throughout the house and I can hear his footsteps coming up the stairs and into my bedroom. I'm still sleeping but slowly waking up from all this noise my annoying brother must make. The doorknob rattles and his footsteps shuffle on the hardwood floors, creaking here and there. Before I know it he jumps on top of me and my eyes burst open before I let out a squeal and he begins laughing uncontrollably.

"Cameron!" I struggle to get him off of me but he pins me down to the mattress, "you nearly gave me a heart attack!"

He continues laughing and I can't help but join him. I need to get revenge though so I manage to get one of my hands free and begin tickling his side.

"Hey! Stop it!" he giggles and eventually rolls over onto the other side of the bed, breathless. Finally.

"Why are you so hyper this morning?" I pant and roll over on my side to look at him.

"I don't know," he shrugs, "what do you want for breakfast? Or should I say dinner! It's freaking 2:30, Lilly!"

I laugh in shock, "Really? How did I sleep in so late?" I check my phone that's sitting on a cute little nightstand right beside my bed. It is 2:30.

"How am I supposed to know?" He looks up at the ceiling the entire time and I join him, admiring the pretty patterns Derek managed to design across the lilac painted ceiling.

"Where's Nat?" I ask a few seconds later. He drags himself out of the bed and stretches, scratches his head and pokes around my stuff I managed to unpack last night.

"She might be unpacking or making something to eat," he replies finally picking up something. A bag.

"Oh cool, a comic book! Can I have it?" He pulls the item out of the bag and I now remember where it came from. That creepy nerd who lives right across the street. Can you believe that geek rams into me with that stupid skate board of his and then has the audacity to blame me and tell me I'm the rude one? I can't believe these New Yorkers. I roll my eyes at the memory of him staring at me for a good two minutes and shudder at how much of a creep he is.

"No, you can't. It's not even mine," I prop myself up on the bed and try to grab it from his hands but he quickly lifts it higher.

"Who's is it then?" He looks at me, smirking.

"Cameron, it's not mine. Just give it back!" I raise my voice at him and fortunately, he isn't a big jerk today and hands me back the comic book, "Thank you."

He then reaches for the bag again and shakes something else out. It's a key chain.

"You're my super woman?" He smiles as he reads the words printed on the lady shaped object, "Aw, Lil, did you get this for me?"

He is such an idiot.

"You're annoying me now. Just put it down and leave, please," I roll my eyes at him and drop back down onto the herd of my fluffy pillows.

"I was just wondering," he mumbles before putting it down and turning around to leave, "go shower, Lilly."

"I know," I roll my eyes as I force myself to get up.

What are even my plans for today? I really don't know. I sigh at the thought of how miserable I am without a life as I tie my hair up into a messy bun and stare at my lousy reflection in the mirror. I'm hideous.

I begin strolling around the room like a weirdo. I'm still getting used to all these things and this huge room that's all mine. I smile at the thought of Derek actually taking the time to do all these amazing things for me. He's such a sweetheart. My eyes eventually land on the plastic bag that holds the comic book and key chain belonging to that boy. I can't believe I have to do this but it's the only way he'll get it back; me going over there to his house, ringing the door bell and asking for him-
