"I'm home!"
"Anyone here"
"Where is everyone"
Wow I'm talking to myself ...I'm still talking to myself ok I'm gonna stop now
Throwing my bag on the floor I run up to my room and get changed into a tank top and a pair of shorts, pulling on my riding boots I go down stairs and send a message to my mom

Kayla to mom:going to the stables be home late

Shoving my phone back in my pocket I walk to the garage and grab my bike not wanting to walk home tonight
Cycling down the road my pocket buzzes ...it's probably mom saying something about dinner

Opening the gate I push my bike through and close the gate behind me
Shoving my bike in a bush I walked towards the stables.
The familiar scent of hay and horse fill my nose and I walk past all of the stalls till I see my one with the special plaque made for it,whistling quietly my not so little chestnut mare pokes her head over the bottom of the door.
"Hey pretty girl"I whispered to her as I fed her a carrot.

Time for some cross country practice I thought as I got on bareback

Time for some cross country practice I thought as I got on bareback.
Walking down the long driveway lined with oak trees I pulled out my phone nd checked my messages
Unknown to Kayla:how's it doing Kayla
Kayla to unknown:who is this and how did u get my number?

Packing my phone away I focused on the ride ahead
"Brrrr" I should've packed a jacket because it's getting cold and dark quickly now

Spotting the first log I pushed amber into a canter and directed her towards the middle of the giant log.
Jumping over it I head to the next jump but stopped in my tracks when I saw someone else ride up to it and jump over,it definitely was a he no doubt about that but I've never seen that horse or him before..
maybe he's new
my inner voice told me
"Hey!"
He obviously didn't hear me
I tried calling out again but he was too far away now
Oh well I'll find out back at the stables
Trotting back to the stables I saw a straight and pushed amber into a gallop because she was a racehorse after all and slowly stood up on her back
"Wooohoooo"
This is the best feeling ever
Sliding down to a normal position I slowed her to a canter and pulled out my phone
Unknown to Kayla :you know me
Kayla to unknown :how do I know you have we met?

Shoving my phone back in my pocket I slowed amber down and let her take a breather then I made my way towards the dam so we could cool off
—————

Absolutely the best feeling ever has to be laying on your back in a cool dam when it's 35 degrees and just listening to yourself breath.
A soft nudge to my side I opened my eyes and saw amber looking at me with her big brown eyes, splashing her face I went under the water one more time before jumping on her back and riding out of the dam
Good thing I didn't use my saddle today
I thought as we slowly made our way back up the bank, the worst thing is having to tack up and sit in a saddle when you just relaxed and are soaking wet because you get all sticky and the saddle leather gets wet then you have to oil and dry it which is the worst.

As soon as I got back I put amber in the back paddock so she could dry off and roll around in the thick grass and walked over to the tack room to hang my bridle up
What I saw was the last thing I expected to see

What the heck!
