Song: Baby by Clean Bandit (ft Marina and the Diamonds and Luis Fonsi)
First chapter. First story. First song.
Pretty memorable huh?
On a side note, there is a specific time in which I would recommend you to play this song in order to match with the sequence of the events unfolding but, of course, you can always play beforehand if you're feeling rebellious.
Enjoy.
Today is the day.
I'm leaving my home.
I sigh as I stare my engagement ring , reminding me of why I am leaving the only place I've lived my whole life.
For my last day, my best friend Asia threw a party at her house, as a way of saying goodbye to us.
My fiance and I are standing by the doorway, greeting each close relative and friends as they enter the house.
My cheeks hurt from constantly smiling. I look at my fiance, feeling the love I have for him. My heart swells as he tightens his grip on my waist whilst looking down at me. Looking at him, the whole room disappears and for him just existing, I give him a quick peck.
"I love you."
"I love you too," he says as he gazes down at me, his hands caressing my face and his thumb tracing my lips.
"You're beautiful, you know that right?" My heart skips a beat at that comment.
Someone cleared their throat, breaking a trance we had with each other.
"I would rather you guys not get it on in front of me. I mean a guy is still lonely here!" Ryan's best friend, Aiden, gestured to himself frantically.
"Oh hardy har-har Aiden." Ryan slaps his back, "Go get a beer, get laid by a girl or guy, anything to have you stop complaining. It's not my fault I'm better looking than you."
Oh please. Aiden is much better looking with his buff, tall figure, dark grey eyes, and black curly hair, in comparison with my fiance's hazel eyes and straight short hair and lean build. I'm not complaining though. I'd choose Ryan a hundred times before Aiden.
I stared at their encounter, Ryan laughing at a teasing joke Aiden said. Aiden leaves, but not before winking in my direction.
My feet begin to hurt as my pointed heels start pinching my big toe. I uncomfortably shift from one foot to the other as the pain increases.
"Honey, I am going to sit down for a while, my feet are slowly killing me." I chuckle as he looks at me, his lips creased in concern but eyes shine with amusement.
"Are you going to make it to a chair without breaking your ankles? My arm is ready for you to pop out of its socket in order to catch you from falling."
I swat his arm away from my waist, rolling my eyes at his humor, "Please, I'd rather twist my ankles than accept you to be my knight in shining armor, increasing your ego more."
Ryan chuckles, a deep sound resonating in his chest. "I'll save you anytime, whether you want it or not." He holds my hand, bringing my ringed finger to his lips, "I will be both your physical and emotional support no matter what, for your smile is the oil that makes my day smoother and your voice is my drug that I can never get rid of."
My eyes shine with recognition and my heart swells even more.
He's reciting what he said to me a year ago when he proposed to me.
