My name is Maxie Rion. And this is how 77th Street changed my life forever. For better or worse. So far, I'm thinking the latter.
...
Allan pushed me into the cellar.
"What do you want from me, Bastard?"
He laughed. "You got spunk, darling. Sass. I like that. But you shouldn't run your mouth around here, darling. My friend-more associates, really might kill you for your tongue. If you anger them, there are no second chances."
"I don't even know who you are, Bastard. Mind pleasuring me with the information of who had the pleasure of kidnapping me?"
I was lying. I knew who he was. I knew who he worked for and who he worked with...the only thing I didn't know was they were capable of. That's what I was there to find out.
As for who 'they' are...well, you will did out.
"Allan Gallnot. As for why you are here...you will have to wait to find that out. The Boss wants a word with you, Darling. Best behave yourself, Missy. Or else."
I stared at him, putting on a poker face, but making sure to let fear escape my guards.
I am a really good actress.
Then I broke my gaze and looked at my feet.
"Lead the way, Bastard."
He grinned.
"Bastard, eh? Carefully. Someone else might cut out your tongue for saying something like that. But I ain't like those other guys. I like you. Better hope the Boss likes you, though."
"Lovely," I said sarcastically.

Third Person~
"Get me a line with James West."
"Sorry, sir?"
"You heard me. I don't have all day. Get me a line."
"Yes, sir," The women answered.
A few seconds later, she handed him a phone.
"Is the spider in the web?"
"Confirmative," The man answered. "But I'm not sure we thought this through. We should have planned this out more."
"We didn't have more time. We saw an opening and we took it. Don't contradict me, Markson. We will work this out."
"I hope so. You know how unstable this guy is."
"True...but we don't have a choice."
"True."
"Markson, make sure there are eyes around. If she gets hurt..." He left the threat hanging.
"If she gets hurt, it will be my head on a platter. I understand."
"Good."
Silence.
"Remember what I told you," West warned.
"Bye."
West didn't answer. He hung up the phone and sighed.
