She stalked the halls with a broken heart. She kept telling herself it wasn’t his fault. She should have told Jared to stay with him. Maybe then her mother would not have tricked Jay into sleeping with her. Maybe then she would still have her mate, someone to call her own. What had she ever done to her mother that would cause her to hate her so? Yes she had killed her father but that had been his will. He didn’t lover her mother, his love he met after he had died. He had thanked her for it.
Then her mother had been banished, she didn’t know why and no one would tell her. Was this her way of getting revenge? Having sex with her lover and causing him to impregnate her? She was a broken Queen. “Avandria…” The sound of her name shot a raging fire through her. She attacked the man before her and sank her fangs into his neck. The blood of a fire demon had always been her favorite. “Mom! Put J.J down!” She ignored Justice and continued to drink. Jay’s scent made her drink deeper.
J.J moaned and arched into her as he came. She immediately pulled away, her fangs dripping blood, “What do you want J.J?” she asked backing away from him. The lust still shone in his eyes. “Well, word was sent to my father that your…mate had impregnated your mother.” She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms over her chest to hold in the pain. “Yes, and?” “Marry me Avandria.” “No dice J.J.” Jay was glaring at J.J, but he schooled his expression to a blank mask. He had lost all claim to her when he had slept with her mother.
“Has anyone seen Drago?” At her question Jay let loose a feral growl. He would be hers again. He vowed it. “I am here my dearest. What pleasure can I bestow upon your body this eve? Your mate had been proven un-true to you; I will be the exact opposite.” Avandria spun and planted her fist on his cheek, causing him to crash into a wall. “Lay a hand on DaShawn again and it'll be much worse. You lost your honor when you attacked him with his back turned; now I challenge you for the position of ruler over the dragons.”
Jay’s eyes widened. “Whoa, didn’t see that one coming.” “Well Drago? Do you accept?” Justice grinned. “Just hand ‘em over now, she's goanna kick your ass. She has more power than a fledgling.” Drago glared at the three of them, causing J.J to vanish. “The challenge is?” Avandria smiled. “I'll let you pick.” Drago smirked. “I accept.” Justice narrowed his eyes at him. “Nothing sexual!!!” Drago sighed dramatically. “Fun sucker. Archery. Extreme Archery." Justice paled. “Holy crap, mom, do you really have to do this?” Avandria sucked in a deep breath. “Yes...I do.”
She turned to Jay. “Let Jason out, I need a partner.” She saw the pain in his eyes and almost cursed herself as she watched Jay shudder and his aura change to something slightly more innocent. “Hello, I assume you are Avandria?” “Yes, I am she. Would you be my partner in this challenge?” He smiled. “I would love to.” “Thank you Jason. Now, to play this game you need a bow and arrows, a blind fold and a snowboard. While blind folded, you must snow board through all four elements while shooting arrows at Drago. Once ten are embedded into his body we win, but if you shoot me, he retains command of the dragons.”
-An Hour Later-
Avandria panted as she staggered from the Arena with eight arrows embedded in her body. “I will take good care of your dragons Drago.” Drago grunted and collapsed. “Get him to the sick room.” Justice ordered. “That wasn’t so bad.” Avandria glared at Jason. “You’re not the one with arrows jutting from your body.” Jason sighed and waved a hand towards her, causing the arrows to vanish and healing her wounds. “Thanks.” “You are most welcome.”
