[ intro ]

hello and welcome to not your average book club. are you looking for long, well-written critiques on your chapter? are you looking for feedback that can help improve your story? are you looking for comments that will make your story better? well, then this isn't the bookclub for you. at not your average book club, we don't offer lengthy critiques or "at least 3-5 sentences" of feedback that in all honesty, doesn't really help. also, the book club hashtag isn't pretty either, so you don't have to worry about that here! what we offer is something completely different. we offer comment spams on your chapter. interested? then read on!

[ about us ]

we are a club of 25 members that will leave 5 comments on your chapter. that is a total of 125 comments on a single chapter. the comments are not critiques on your writing or feedback on your story. rather, the comments are like comments from readers. eg. oh my god, what just happened? i knew she shouldn't have trusted sarah!! these are comments that relate to your story directly and help your story gain more visibility (hopefully). if you're looking for ways to improve your story, there are already a ton of book clubs out there for that. but if you're looking for more comments and more reads, we offer an alternative to the traditional book club.

[ how it works ]

members will submit one chapter and every three days, the club will be assigned a chapter from one of the members to read and comment on. all they need to do is leave 5 comments, no matter how short or long, on the chapter. if you're feeling generous, you can provide feedback to help them improve as well, but that is not mandatory. you will have 72 hours to finish your 5 comments. late commentors will be issued a warning and will be blacklisted on the third warning. if there are people that ditch and don't comment when it is your chapter, i will personally fill up the rest of the comments so you will be guaranteed 125 comments when you join us.

the order of the queue will be left up to a random generator to prevent any biasness. after all the chapters from all 25 members have had its turn, the club will take a break for two weeks before the next cycle starts. then, not your average book club will begin recruiting members once again. all members of the previous cycle are encouraged to rejoin. this is just so those that do not wish to continue are not stuck in the club and that people who want to join can give the club a shot. there may also be vacancies due to blacklisted members.

[ member information ]

if you'd like to join the club, please make sure that you read this section very carefully. when you first join, you will be required to do a comment spam on a chapter of my choosing to ensure that you're not just hoping to be the first in queue and then ditch your fellow members after you've gotten all your comments. but this is only for new members, so if you're re-applying for the next cycle, you don't have to do this. think of it as a form of initiation. after all, i am responsible for all members because i will be the one filling up the comments if someone decides to ditch. so i need to make sure that every single member will hold up their end of the deal and finish the cycle. those who abandon halfway through the cycle will be blacklisted and will not be allowed to join future cycles unless they have a valid reason.

this is extremely important. please only join the club if you are sure that you can commit to the whole length of the cycle.

[ eligibility ]

01 | you must have at least one chapter up

02 | the chapter you submit must have more than 1000 words. sorry, it's hard to write 125 comments when you have only 800 words. poetry and short stories with less than 1000 words in a chapter are not eligible.

03 | fanfiction, mature stories, spiritual and overly-violent stories are not eligible. these are the categories that make some people uncomfortable and i don't want that to be an issue or an excuse for not completing assignments.

04 | you must be active on wattpad. i will check your activity to make sure that you have a history of commenting and voting on stories. this shouldn't be a problem for most of you, but if you're new or whatever and so you're not active, just let me know and i'll evaluate on a case-by-case basis.

05 | again, you need to be able to commit to the whole length of the cycle which is roughly two and a half months.
