It's been a year now since I confessed to Arion and I'm glad that nothing changed. I was a bit afraid that he would avoid me or things would be awkward around us, but nope. He was cool about it.
We're finally in grade ten - gosh. Time flies. But there is just something not right about the situation right now. The atmosphere around us is normal. But something about this isn't right.
Delilah and Jake are acting lovey-dovey like usual. Denise, Jane, Sally, and Luke are still the same gay weirdos of our group. Andrea is still the same bitchy but likeable person among all of us. Then there's Arion... huh, there's just this negative vibe that I've been feeling around him for the past few hours...
Then there's me. The one who is currently getting teased by Delilah, Jake and Jane about this one guy I met at my part time job at a cafe.
"So, was he hot?" Jane questioned. Of course that would be her first question.
"I mean... he isn't bad looking... but he obviously isn't as good as anime boys." I say.
"Pfft I swear when will you grow out of your obsession." Delilah chuckles. "I mean, I get the normal anime but you two obsess over game characters."
"Shut up." Jane says.
"So, is this person enough to push Arion off your crush pedestal?" Jake wiggled his eyebrows.
"Dude." I say, feeling completely done with life. "I swear to the creator of cheesecakes that I will kill you someday."
We heard Arion cough from behind us. Then Jake started laughing out loud. "Dude, someone is finally gonna take your place. You're free." Jake laughed.
"Hey! It's not like he isn't free now! I'm not preventing him from getting into relationships!" I squeak out.
"Of course, of course." Jake said.
Then the bell rang, and we all had to make our way to our classes.
~~~
"Haaaah finally!" I rejoice. "IT'S THE END OF THE DAY. THE END OF THE WEEK. WE GET TO SLEEP IN!" I yell.
"I swear you're a walking megaphone when you're with us." Delilah muttered.
"Hahaha." I laugh. "Oh, by the way. I'm won't be taking the school bus today! Whoohoo!" I cheer.
"I swear you need to know how to commute by now." Andrea said.
"Heehee. I can stay at school for a while longer today. Who wants to do something?" I ask.
Everyone turns out to be busy with their own things. Well, except for a certain someone.
"Well, there's Arion." Jake suggested.
Then Arion and I immediately looked at each other.
"Uhhhhh..." I stammer. "I don't think that this combination is the best..."
"Yeah..." Arion agreed nervously.
"But... I don't really have a choice my mom's gonna fetch me at 6," I groan.
"Wow, good luck. It's only 3:20," Denise said.
Then they all went their separate ways. "Welp. Wanna go to the usual spot?" I ask.
"Sure." He said and we started making our way there.
"So what time are you going home?" I asked out loud.
"My driver's gonna fetch me around... five-ish," he answered.
"Huh. So you'll be here for two hours. Sucks for me. I have to wait for three." I grumble as we finally arrive at our usual spot: the old, closed gate of our school.
