~ Eden Rae ~

Darkness.

That's all I saw when I opened my eyes, but the cloud like feeling under my body reassured me that I wasn't laying on some dirty floor. I looked around allowing my eyes to adjust, until I could see what looked to be a fireplace across the room.

A fireplace? My apartment doesn't have a fireplace? These thoughts swarmed my head as I stood up from the bed, stretching my wobbly legs. I walked slowly towards the fireplace, grazing my hand over its smooth white surface. The cool marble sent shivers through my body, reminding me I should probably be freaking out right now.

But I wasn't.

I then noticed a set of curtains and popped my eye right between their opening . It was morning and the area outside was nicely kept. Another thing that caught my eye was the amount of luxurious cars parked on the stone driveway. Black formal cars, red sports cars, and even motorcycles piled behind one another. Where the hell am I?

A muffled voice outside the window caused me to look around and plant my eyes on a group of men dressed in black, walking back towards their SUVs. I watched carefully, studying their body movement and language to only make an assumption that they were dangerous.

Pushing back from the curtains I walked over to the door, opening it as quietly as I could. If I was surrounded by dangerous people, I had to use my brain and try to escape alive. I walked down the hallway, taking in every bit of my surroundings. Modern picture frames on the walls showed photos of people, art work and even awards.

'Certificate of Ownership to: Kerrim Floyd'

Kerrim? The name doesn't ring a bell at all, so I kept moving. More awards and photos covered each hallway I turned down. I kept going until I made it towards a set of massive double doors at the end of a hallway. A plaque on the wall said the reoccurring name 'Kerrim Floyd'  in silver lettering.

I was ready to just bust in the room and start looking around, but that plan was quickly shattered to pieces when I heard voices from behind the door.

"So what are you going to do with the girl brother?" A man with an deep accented voice asked.

"Her name is Eden," A different yet recognizable voice replied with a sigh, it was accented as well. "And once she wakes I'm sure she'll have questions."

"I suppose. ..after questions she has to be sent back. It is too dangerous to have her here, there's too many enemies." The first man responded, his voice a little more serious than before.

"Of course. I'll be sure to have her protected until there is no need. Hopefully nobo-" The man stopped harshly after being cut off by a ring. "One sec brother."

-

"Hello?"

"Uh yes? Is she not in there?"

"No? What do you mean she isn't in her room? Weren't you dumb-asses supposed to watch her door through camera?"

"You are worthless. I'm coming to watch the camera, don't touch anything until I get there ilithios." (idiot)

-

Oh shit. I thought for a quick minute on what to do. Do I run back to the room? Do I find a different room? Maybe I'll find a different room....yeah! I stood up taking as many breaths as I could. I was mentally telling myself it's okay, but in reality I was freaking out. You can do this Eden, you can do this.

I looked around for options and saw a door close by. I wasn't sure where it led to, but right now I just need to stay out of their sight. Running on the pads of my feet, I made it to the door. I opened it and quickly vaulted in the room, closing it behind me. The timing was perfect, because as soon as I shut the door I could hear heavy footsteps walk past.

Jesus Christ.

My heart was currently pounding and my breaths became more fast. I think my fear is starting to set in. I took a minute to catch up and muster up a plan. They have cameras and will always know where I am, but if I run to different places each time...maybe they wont catch me? Oh well it was worth a shot.

I started to open my door and look around for possible exits. Keeping my senses heightened, I booked it down the hallway. The sound of multiple footsteps echoed throughout the connecting hallways, pushing me to run faster.

"Eden?" The familiar voice called out.

I ran like there was no tomorrow. Many unseen things came into my view such as stairs and more double doors from a balcony. I decided on the stairs and ran down them, taking a left to the huge doors. I pushed the heavy doors open and used all my strength to hold them closed. I waited for a couple minutes until the sound of thuds stopped from above me.

"Sir we lost sight, there's no visual on the cameras." A static voice rang out, possibly from someone's walkie-talkie on the stairs.

A sigh of relief left me. I let go of the door's handles and turned around to be met by the same man from the coffee shop. A smile appeared on his face as he stalked towards me slowly.

"Hello Eden."
