My world was spinning, every limb felt like stone. I couldn't move, I could barely breathe.

"JENNY!" The voice was muffled, warm liquid trickled down my face. I could taste a metallic remnant staining the inside of my mouth, the fire igniting my entire body as i was once again reminded of the bullet still lodged in my stomach.

I could hear someone crying, periodically shouting my name.

Suddenly my vision focused and i opened my eyes as a scream erupted from me, someone was carrying me. The pain was unbearable and they began running, the tears fell down my face at every jolt as the person sprinted through the forest.

We reached the clearing and could see the masses of slaughtered wolves lining the area, passing some with their throats torn out or gashes lining their stomach allowing intestines to spill out onto the muddy ground.

"Hold on Jenny." Their voice a whisper through the haziness of my hearing, i didn't know who this person was but i would certainly know i was grateful they found me.

I couldn't move my body anymore, all my limbs hung loosely in his hold as they continued to run. I couldn't make anything out and the metallic taste in my mouth only got stronger and stronger.

"Jackson! I found her!" I could hear the words but I didn't understand what was happening, i wanted to close my eyes so bad. I was so tired.

"No! don't you dare go to sleep jen!" Panicked shouts from above me continued as my eyelids gave way.

Jackson POV

"Jackson!" I swerved my head to see Xavier running across the bloodied field holding a limp body.

"Get the medic now! she's gone unconscious... fuck" The tears were streaming from his eyes as he ran still, that's when I picked up her scent.

I don't think my stomach could have dropped further at the realisation.

There was blood everywhere, dripping from her naked torso.

I couldn't move. All I could see was the deep red and the bruises covering her entire body.

Xavier finally reached me, shaking uncontrollably as he held her in his arms.

That's when the pack doctor jumped in, ordering Xavier to put her in the van. She started shouting at other medics as they raced to the van and began working on her.

Why wasn't I moving?

Why wasn't I fucking moving?

Xavier appeared in front of me, grabbing me by the shoulders before holding me by my neck to get me to look at him.

"Get your act together! She needs you." The words clung in my throat unable to escape, instead, I just nodded.

With that I ran towards Jen, jumping in past the medics to grab hold of her hand. I think I needed this more than anything, to feel her skin against mine.

The medics rushed around her as the doors slammed shut and the van raced out of the drive to get us back to the hospital.

I ignored the twisting of my gut watching as they pressed down on the bullet wound trying to prevent the flow of blood... I glanced at her skin seeing the discolouration... the cuts.... the pain..... everything hurts just looking at her.

I closed my eyes... enclosing her hand between mine to rest my head on her skin.... breathing through the gut-wrenching guilt and pain, trying to stop myself from bawling my eyes out.

"We are doing everything we can, sir" She nodded at me firmly before continuing to inject fluid into Jen's veins. My eyes travelled to follow the doctor using a device to inject something into the bullet hole, it expanded to effectively prevent the flow of blood. The skin colour of Jen became steadily paler, lacking the life to maintain the colour...

Maybe if I don't think about it... It will all be okay....This isn't happening....

"Sir. We will have to move her immediately to surgery so you will have to let us leave with her..." I tried to disagree but she only jumped in again.

"I know this is incredibly distressing especially after being away from her, but we need to move fast and you will only slow us down!" I gritted my teeth, breathing shallow as I resigned to nod my head in defeat.

Only a few minutes later the van hit gravel and ground to a halt before the doors swung open.. I couldn't keep up with them as they pulled her out making me loose contact with her hand, the panicking feeling arising further up my throat.

I ran after them before the doctor gave me a stern look and I dropped back... watching as Jens limp arm hung from the edge of the bed whilst they rushed her down the long hallway to surgery....

Please let her be okay..
