I fumble around on my bed until I find my phone to turn my alarm off. 6:30 am. I turn the alarm off as I sit up in my bed stretching and then flip back down into my pillows. I really don't want to leave the comfort of my nice soft, warm pillows.

But I have to.

"God, I'm so tired." I say to no one in particular as I yawn.

I get out of bed and head towards the bathroom, weaving through the boxes that are stacked around the bedroom. I turn the water on in the shower and let it heat up as I brush my teeth. I get in and wash my hair and myself before I turn the water off and get out grabbing the towel off the rack. I grab another towel and wrap my hair up as I walk back into my bedroom. I've loved having a bedroom with an en-suite, and luckily for me my new dorm room is just the same.

I grab an old pair of dark blue jeans and a red t-shirt to put in over my bra and underwear. I dry my hair and put on some mascara before putting my socks and shoes on and heading downstairs.

I guess everyone is still in bed.

I get a glass of orange juice from the fridge before I head back upstairs to start taking boxes to my car. I don't really have much that I'm taking, most of it is in storage with my parents things near my aunts house. I've been living with my best friend and her family for the past three months.

At the beginning of the summer my parents had went out for their date night, but they never came back. I remember the police knocking on my front door and giving me the horrible news. Elaina was spending the night with me so she was there when I got the news. I'm so glad she was there.

I was supposed to go stay with my aunt in New York, but she and El's parents agreed that I could stay with them for my senior year. I don't think she really wanted me to stay with her anyways.

Elaina has been my best friend since fifth grade. Her family had just moved to town and she was placed in my group in class. We instantly clicked and have just grown closer as the years went on. She is beautiful. She has short curly dirty blonde hair and emerald green eyes. She's the older one of us by two months.

As I'm walking inside I hear El.
"Abigailll!" she yells while walking down the stairs into the kitchen.

"Do you want something to drink?" I ask as she takes a seat at the island.

"Yes, please!" she replies smiling.

I grab another glass and pour each of us some orange juice and close the refrigerator door. I walk over beside her and hand her the glass. We go over our plans for the day as I clean up around the kitchen.

"It's already 9:37?!" Elaina half screams as she looks at the clock behind my head.

I turn around and my mouth drops open.
"Oh jeez... I guess it's about time to go then." I say as I slightly laugh as I turn back around to face her.

"Where are your parents at?"

"They should be back any minute. They went to get breakfast for us since they won't be able to come with us today." she tell me.

"Ooooh food! Have I mentioned how much I love your parents?" I reply smiling. "What about Mia? Is she still at Kevin's house?"

She shakes her head at me while laughing as she finishes her juice.

"Yeah. She won't be back for a few days though, so we won't be able to see her."

Mia is Elaina's older sister. She's like a big sister to me too. We always end up going to her for advice with boys or anything else we may need. Not that I need boy advice, I've never had a boyfriend. I've never really even had one look at me. Elaina, on the other hand, defiantly has. It seems like all the boys want her to notice them when we go to the mall or the movies.

After her parents get back with the food we eat and finish packing our cars. We say our farewells and head out to get going. Elaina starts her car and so do I. I back out of the driveway to follow her down the road on the way to my new life at a new school.
