SCARLETT'S POV

I sit quietly in the back corner of the classroom, waiting for the bell to signal the end of the day. The clock ticks slowly, seemingly slower than normal, and I sigh. I hate math.

Finally, the bell rings and everyone rushes out of the room. I walk over to my locker and grab out my homework. My best friend comes up to my locker holding hands with her boyfriend, Jaxon. I don't like Jaxon. Never did, never will. He's best friends with the boy who broke my heart and he also happens to be the biggest player in school. I don't trust him with my friend, I know she will get hurt no matter how much he 'claims' to love her.

"See you later babe, I'll call you," he says.

"Sure thing, bye," Everly replies and pecks his cheek.

He waves and walks off, leaving me to hang with Everly.

"Hey Scar," she says, turning her attention to me, "you ready to go?"

"Yep, we can go," I reply casually, pretending I wasn't just fantasising about punching her precious boyfriend in the face.

I quickly unlock my car so we can leave and turn the radio on full blast. We sing our hearts out to every song we hear until we reach my house. I park in the driveway and we walk inside.

Before I can even get to the kitchen to put my bag down I hear someone scream, "Everly!" And watch as my best friend gets tackled in a bear hug from my twelve year old sister.

"Hey Imogen, long time no see," Everly says hugging Imogen back.

They pull apart and Imogen retreats back to the couch, as Everly and I make our way to the kitchen. Everly goes straight to the fridge. She finds a can of soda and starts sculling it down, all the while I'm just standing here staring at her as she raids my fridge.

"What? I'm hungry," she exclaims through a mouthful of chocolate cake, which I didn't even know we had.

I just sigh and shake my head at her, smiling as she goes back to searching for food. After our house is stripped of all things edible we head upstairs to my room. Everly, as always, makes herself at home and crashes on my bed, grabs her homework and starts working. I just follow after her and we sit for hours in order to complete the random assignments and worksheets we have due.

When we finish all the work that we have to do we walk downstairs and decide to watch Grown Ups 2 with Imogen. It is actually very funny, but Everly and I just fan girl over Taylor Lautner.

"He is sooo hawt!"

"Damn those abs!"

"He is soo sexy!"

"No, he is a sexy beast!"

"I wish I could date him!"

"He should do more scenes with his shirt off!"

"He should do more scenes with everything off!"

Yeah, that's us... Slightly obsessed, maybe even borderline crazy.

"Everly would you like to stay for dinner?" My dad says, walking into the room. He just finished work at the car shop in town. He owns the place, which used to be his father's. Dad's been obsessed with cars for as long as I can remember and is almost always covered in grease.

"No thanks you. I should probably get going, my mum will be wondering where I am," Everly replies politely.

"Ok then. Thanks for coming over, Imogen really missed you."

"Anytime, thanks for having me Mr Evans" she says and turns to me, "I'll see you tomorrow."

She waves goodbye and gives Imogen a hug before walking out. She only lives a few streets down, so we often walk to each other's houses to visit.

I run back upstairs to my room and decide to take a shower. I quickly strip and get in the shower, letting the warm water relax me. I wash my hair with my favourite strawberry shampoo and conditioner and get out, wrapping myself in a towel and go back through my room and into my walk in wardrobe. I grab underwear and search for some PJ's. I end up wearing a pair of grey booty shorts that says kiss across the back and a red tank top.

I crash on my bed and slowly fall asleep.

I wake up to a heavy weight on me, making it slightly hard to breathe. I open my eyes and look up to see my big brother, Blake, sitting on top of me, smiling like an idiot.

"Blake, get off," I mumble into my pillow.

"Dad told me to wake you otherwise you will be late for school," he says, not moving from his place on my back.

I groan and attempt to reach back and hit him. He jumps off, pokes his tongue out at me and strolls out, leaving me to get ready. I roll my eyes at his idiocy. Boys, I will never understand them, even though I live with one.

Twenty minutes later I am in my car, drinking coffee and on my way to school. I park close to the entrance so I don't have to walk far, and head to my locker. Twisting the lock to my code, I quickly open it and shove my bag in.

"Scarlett!" Someone yells from behind me. I grab my coffee and turn around to see an angry Everly storming towards me. I raise my hands in surrender.

"Whatever it is, I didn't do it," I say innocently.

"It wasn't you," she says bluntly, not caring to explain further.

"Then what happened?" I ask.

She points over her shoulder and bursts into tears. I look in the direction she pointed and see Jaxon making out with the head cheerleader, Chelsea - bleach blonde hair, way too much makeup, tiny miniskirt. I pull Everly into a hug and glare at the sight before me.

Oh so you wanna play?

Let's play.
