Chapter 5: Meeting Peter

Tony nodded as he sat down next to Clint,

"Yes, me and Pepper just adopted him," Tony said

"He ain't for charity right?" Sam asked, Tony growled,

"Ask that question again, I dare you!" And that was enough to answer Sams question and shut him up. Peter walked over to Tony and sat it his lap,

"'M sleepy," Peter mumbled with a yawn, Tony smiles as he ran his hand through Peters hair,

"Then sleep, I'll wake you up when breakfast is ready," Tony said softly. Peter nodded his head before sinking into Tony's chest and falling into a deep slumber. The Avengers stared at Tony in shock,

"It's like your a new person," Clint said which made Tony chuckle,

"I like him..." Nat said which was a surprise to many. Tony smiled as he stopped running his fingers through Peters curly hair but a small whine made him start again. Steve chuckled,

"He seems to like you,"

"Ya, I just wish he wasn't as shy awake as he is asleep,"

"He'll come around,"

Steve got up and lightly clapped his hands together,

"So who's up for breakfast!", everyone smiled and told Steve what they would want. Steve turned to Tony,

"What about you?"

"I'll have some coffee and a pancake, and for Peter give him a spider shaped pancake if you can,"

Steve nodded and left to the kitchen, Clint looked over,

"Does he like spiders?"

"Yup, he isn't afraid of them which is shocking at his age," Clint agreed before everyone went into a hush conversation.

After a couple of minutes Steve called everyone in for breakfast. One by one the Avengers got up and walked to the kitchen, soon only Tony and Peter was left. Tony looked down at the bundle of joy in his lap and smiled as he slowly shook Peter awake.

Peters baby brown eyes slowly opened as he let out a small yawn, Tony chuckled,

"Hello again Peter, it's time for breakfast." Tony said softly, Peter looked up at Tony with tired eyes before he snuggled back into his chest. Tony rolled his eyes and picked Peter up as they left to the kitchen. 

When they reached the kitchen everyone was already eating and Pepper was up and grabbing some coffee.

"Morning Pepper," Tony said, Pepper turned around with a smile, "Morning Ton-" Pepper cut herself off when she saw Peter curled up in Tony's arm, "That's adorable," Pepper whispered. Tony nodded and placed Peter on a chair next to Natasha, 

"Peter, Steve made pancakes and there spider shaped," Tony said as he placed the plate in front of Peter. Peter perked up and the sound of his favourite 'animal' and he opened his eyes with a smile, 

"Yay! Spider pancake! Thanks Mr. Stark!"  Peter exclaimed,

"Call me dad, kid, and if not then call me Tony...okay?", Peter nodded,

"But I didn't make the pancakes, Steve did," Tony said, Peter looked at Tony in confusion. Tony chuckled, 

"Steve raise your hand," Tony said, Steve raised his hand with a smile and waved at Peter. Peter looked up and nervously waved back with a shy smile before saying a small 'thank you'. Steve chuckled and replied with a 'Your welcome' as everyone started to eat.
