You glanced up from your phone and at the looming mansion in front of you. You swore that there was a stereotypical crackle of lightening that usually went with haunted houses. Maybe this was a haunted house, and you were about to offer yourself up like a virginal sacrifice.
Gathering up whatever courage you had left, you pocketed your phone and adjusted the strap of your duffel bag before pulling your luggage case along with you. You used the knocker on the big wooden ornate door and waited for a "Come in" from inside the residence.
After waiting for a while and rocking on you heels, you started to suspect that there wasn't anyone inside. Just as you were about to grab the knocker again, the door creaked open slowly, causing goosebumps to raise on both your arms. Sucking a deep breath, you pushed the door open even more and allowed the late afternoon sunlight from the outside to spill into the dark entrance.
"Heh-Hello?" Your voice bounced off the walls, and the only answer you got was your own echo. You ventured even more inside, taking one shaky step after another. Suddenly, the door that had been open so far swung shut, causing a large slam and a short scream from you. Right after the door shut, unseen lights slowly turned on, allowing you to better observe your surroundings.
There wasn't really that much in the entrance. There was a coat hanger with a few scarves and coats next to the door and a lounging couch close to the coat hanger. There were also an abundance of candelabras placed around the area and close to the giant staircase in front of you.
"Hello there," you jumped and turned around, only to see a purple-haired boy who was a few inches taller than you. He had worryingly dark eye bags and was holding a teddy bear.
"Hi." Was you could get out before you walked away on instinct and your back hit something.
"Woah there, cutie, watch where you're going," a small puff of air was blown into your ear. You squeaked and scrambled away from another boy, though he looked older than the other boy and had different coloured eyes and hair, they both seemed to have the same facial structures and features.
"Laito, Kanato, stop harassing our guest," a third voice rang out and you looked towards the staircase, where another boy with glasses and formal wear frowned down at the three of you. A little ways beside him,a blonde girl with fearful pink eyes was practically shaking. She looked like she was about to leave off the ledge of the staircase and hug you, but it was like something was holding her back.
"Um, hi." You managed an awkward wave at the two before crouching down to grab your suitcase. You could feel the boy with glasses staring at you with so much intensity that you almost started to sweat.
"Who are you, and what are you doing at our home?" His head was held high, and he looked down at you with disdain. You gulped and held his gaze, hoping to set a good first impression.
"My na-name is (Y/N) (L/N)," you said, and silently congratulated yourself for only stuttering once. The boy on the staircase took out a small notebook from his vest pocket and skimmed through the contents.
"... I see. In that case, I welcome you to our home. My name Reiji Sakamaki. Those two are Laito and Kanato." Reiji then gestured to the blonde girl. "This is Yui Komori, another guest here."
"Oi, pipe it down, will you? Yours Truly was taking a nap!" A redhead walked out from one of the corridors up on the staircase and slung an arm around Yui, who seemed to fold into herself. He yawned and rubbed his eyes, which fell onto your figure almost immediately and smirked. "Well, well, well, what do we have here? Another snack?"
You frowned at his choice of words. Reiji rolled his eyes and glared at the boy from the corner of his eyes. "This is Ayato. He, Laito and Kanato are triplets. My other brothers, Subaru and the good-for-nothing Shuu are currently unavailable, but I'm sure you'll bump into them some time later." He scribbled something in his little notebook and you couldn't help but notice how he called one of his brothers a "good-for-nothing". Maybe there was some sibling rivalry thing that was going on.
A butler appeared out of nowhere and offered you a pair of slippers, you immediately slipped them off and watched the butler place your battered sneakers into a shoe rack next to the door.
"Yui, come and take (Y/N) to his room, the one next to yours." Yui nodded and slipped under Ayato's grasp, which caused his smirk to falter a bit. You took your suitcase and hauled it up the stairs. When you finally reached the top of the staircase, Yui beckoned for you to follow her into the corridor. You looked back and shivered when you saw all the brothers looking back at you.
"We hope you enjoy your stay, (Y/N)." Reiji's eyes flashed with something unrecognisable and you nodded a quick thanks before shivering. Jesus Christ, those boys were creepy.
