It had been a normal day, and he had just gone with his Motte to collect water when suddenly screams were to be heard from home.
"Aliens! Aliens!"
"The Oretal are here!"
"They are here! They are all upon us!"
"Aliens!"
"Grab your weapons! Grab your spears!"
more voices snapped and hollered, all equally urgent and all equally terrified or full of rage and hatred. Some, he couldn't tell the difference between.
It was aweing how quickly panic filled the air, and he watched as his Motte's face had gone from all-knowing and focused to being full of tears. She looked more afraid than he'd seen her ever before or ever since, and, thus; that memory alone had scarred Siyo for life. He would never quite be able to forget.
His Motte and all the other women with young children who accompanied them stayed there, frozen and stuck between fight and flight. This was until Siyo's mother recognized his Dodde's face as he came with a group of other Doddes to gather them up and bring them back. However, the sounds and sights when he got back were even more frightening and outlandish.
An entire group of Oretal stood before their huts, so tall and so wide in numbers that they couldn't begin to imagine how many there were. Quickly, he and all the other children were rushed inside. Meanwhile, even their mothers bore weapons and ran to gather among the rest of their kind.
They gathered all together, strengthened in numbers, and with their numbers faced down the numbers of the Oretal. Not could Siyo remember much after that, the memory blocked as to avoid further trauma. However, spoken history re-told the tale over and over to even his children.
At the front of all the Oretal, there stood a single Oretal man and a single Oretal woman who seemed to be a couple. A group of their finest Boretal warriors stood at the front to meet them, of whom included their Boretal leader. His name was Joje, and together with the other warriors he bore his teeth and let out earth-shattering snarls, as; unlike the Oretal, their throats were capable of this ability.
Nonetheless, the Oretal didn't seem the least frightened, and the towering male who stood alongside his partner actually appeared to be irrefutably enraged. Meanwhile, the female smiled and kneeled down to them. Obviously, she was trying to be peaceable and motioned to her mouth as she repeatedly opened and closed it.
"Speeeak? Taaalk? Speeeak? Hiii, He-loooo..."
she would repeat over and over again, however; the Boretal didn't understand Oretal language and tensions only grew until, taking a moment to pause, Joje cried out for a woman named Lei.
Lei had been abducted, tortured, and raped by these aliens in the past. However, before she escaped and found their Boretal group in which to settle, she had learned their evil language. As one can imagine, she was one of the most terrified of them all but her loyalty outweighed her fear. Truly, she was a very strong and courageous woman, and quite old at this time with grey hairs outweighing those of her black. She knew she was being called only for good reason.
And Joje could be heard over all the Boretal and Oretal, as, besides the snarling and the screaming of babies not could even a pebble be heard dropping. The environment was that tense, and so Lei urgently made her way to the front. The growls only ceased when she arrived, and when she faced the woman eye-to-eye.
"Lei, please, tell me what this wretched beast says!"
Joje spat, looking the Oretal woman straight in the eyes the entire time, his teeth bared to display proudly his kind's extremely sharp molars. These molars perfect for the biting and snapping and bone as, on their homeland, they were used to open the shells of sea-creatures for consumption. Now, these jaws served as incredible weapons, and were also perfect for opening the nuts in which they mostly lived off of.
