Taylor's POV
At the end of fourth period Kimmy comes rushing up to me.
Her voice is frantic and low as she speaks to me, "I can't believe you got in the middle of a fight. You practically saved Neil's ass. Why'd you do it? Do you know him?"
I just shake my head, "Neil? I didn't even know his name. He came into the dinner the other day and when I saw him get jumped I felt bad. Nobody else was doing anything."
My mind brings up the image of dinner boy, Neil, laying on the ground with two guys beating on him.
A shiver runs down my spine.
I couldn't leave anyone alone to be treated that way.
I can feel Kimmy's excited energy radiating off of her as she looks around the now full parking lot, "The only reason Neil went down is because there were two guys. Everyone knows not to challenge Neil on their own."
When I glance over at her there's a small smile playing on her lips and I can already tell she's into this Neil guy.
I can't really blame her though.
There's something about him, aside from his looks.
He's so mysterious, and dark. Exciting even.
His looks are just frosting on the cake.
He's at least 6'2", dark brown hair, and, oh, his electric green eyes.
Not to mention his body is covered in tattoos.
I'm absentmindedly wondering how old Neil actually is and pondering on how old he was when he first started getting tattoos when a loud noise comes from the back corner of the parking lot.
Kimmy grabs my arm and starts dragging us towards the commotion.
When we push our way to the front of the crowd I can't believe what I'm seeing.
Holy fuck...
Neil has Josh, the guy that jumped him earlier, pushed up against someone's car and is pounding in his face.
There's blood everywhere and it doesn't look like Josh is responsive anymore.
Kimmy leans over towards me, "Like I said. Nobody challenges Neil. I'm sure Nick will be next."
Nick must be the guy that joined in on the fight earlier.
This time no one offers to step in, and I know this is way out of my league.
I don't think I could stop Neil if I was 6'3" and a professional boxer.
When it looks like Josh is nearing the end of the line Neil leans into his face and spits angry words at him, "If you want a fucking fight come at me head on little bitch."
Neil lets Josh slip down the side of the car to the ground.
As Neil is leaving the center of the crowd he makes eye contact with me, his gaze cold.
I can't rip my eyes away, so I just watch him pass with a look of complete shock.//://://://://://://://://://://://://://://://://://:/
Neil's POV
I can't believe that little prick jumped me today.
I didn't know that the slut from Jim's house was his girl.
He got what he deserved in that parking lot today.
I felt nothing by pride as I left the middle of that manmade ring, my opponent lifeless on the ground. On my way out of the crowd my eyes land on the girl from the dinner. The same girl that helped me earlier today.
Yeah, not so fucking helpless now, huh?
A smirk plays on my lips as I walk off, pulling my hood up.When I walk into my house I almost want to turn back around and leave again.
Both of my parents are home, so this should be fun.
I walk through the oversized mansion to get to the kitchen where, sadly, both my parents are waiting for me.
I open the refrigerator in silence, pretending not to notice them there.
"Son, what happened today?" I hear my mother speak up first. Using her "motherly, I care about you" voice.
I turn and shoot daggers at her, "Like you care. If the prick wants to press charges go ahead. If not, fuck off."
My mom looks at me with round, shocked eyes and my father slams his fist down on the counter.
"You will not talk to your mother like that. You're 18 now. You can face serious charges."
I just give him a blank look and a shrug of my shoulders before grabbing my bottled water and heading up to my room.
As I let my door close I can hear my parents arguing downstairs."Why do you let that little fuck talk to you like that, Amy?"
"Maybe he just needs a father figure in his life, David."
"Oh, don't you put this bullshit on me. I've taught him right from wrong. Not that he's mine to teach."
The comment doesn't surprise me. My father has been claiming that I'm not his since he found out my mother cheated on him.
A moment goes by and I hear my mother's voice again, calmer now, "You know he's your son David."
"That son of a bitch is no son of mine."
That's the last thing I hear before climbing out of my window and dropping to the ground.
I pull my hood up over my head and start towards Jim's house.
Maybe I'll try those tiny white pills tonight.<<~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~>>
