The Curious Case of Lyra Black

Chapter 2

"You ready Lyra?" Mum asked.

"Yeah mum," as I look up and see the glasses kid and the Weasleys.

Mum stopped me as we watched the interaction between them.

"How do you uhmm?" The boy asked.

"Oh how do get on the platform? Oh it's Ron's first time going to Hogwarts, okay all you need to do is walk straight to wall and you'll go right on through do it at a bit of a run if yer nervous," Molly told the kid.

The boy in the glasses took his cart and nearly ran into the wall going straight to the platform. Next was Ron, Molly, and Ginny, Ron went ahead with his mum and little sis right behind.

"Okay Lyra you remember what to do? Remember Aunt Andro is sending your stuff on to school all you need is your bag and Angel." My mum said as we quickly went through the barrier.

"Mum, Thank you this means a lot," I said after we had gotten through the barrier I sat my stuff down and hugged my mum.

"Just be careful," my mom said starting to tear up.

"I'll write you as soon as we get to the dorms and I'll take lots of pictures this year," I said waving to my mum from the train window, I had grabbed the cab with the twins.

"Hi Lyra," Fred said.

"Thanks Fred," I said looking at Lee Jordan sitting down.

"Boys and Lyra, ya hear, Harry Potter is in the first years?" Lee said sitting down throwing his stuff every where.

"We saw him earlier," George said sitting down.

"He went through the barrier right before Ron," I chimed in.

"Oh really?" Fred questioned

"Yeah he didn't know how to get on to the platform," I said.

"I'm more surprised at the fact yer riding on the train this year," Lee said.

"I talked mum into it the other day," I shrugged.

"So who did you met during the other day in Diagon Alley?" George asked.

"A girl by the name Hermione, and my cousins the Malfoy's, my bets this year are Harry, Ron, and Hermione will be getting Gryffindor, and Draco will be getting Slytherin." I said looking at the guys.

"It's still scary how you predict things Ly," Fred said poking me.

"Damn it guys I told ya a million times not to call me Ly," I said smacking his hand away.

*knock knock*

We opened the door it was the lady selling stuff on the trolly.

"Anything off the trolley dearies?"

"A couple pumpkin pasties, a chocolate frog and a box of Bertie Botts every flavor bean, oh and a bag of black licorice, you guys want anything?" I looked back at them smiling as they laughed.

"Thank you dearies" she took the money and handed us our snacks.

Fred and George ate the pumpkin pasties, Lee snatched up the Bertie Botts, and I took my licorice and chocolate frog. I'm gonna save the frog for later, I just want licorice right now.

"Yer teeth are gonna be black before we even make it to Hogwarts," Lee said picking through his beans trying to find a cheese cake one. "Ah found it!"

"I wouldn't eat that if I was you that's a vomit flavor," I said throwing another piece of licorice in my mouth.

"You might be a master at divination already but this 'ere is a cheese cake see," he says showing me the box.
