Amy's P.O.V.
I found myself in my high school bathroom checking if my quills were still perfectly curled and my make up was not smeared.
My black graduation dress/gown fitting me tightly. I re-did my cat eye's and put on some red lipstick making my lips plump and red.
Today is graduation day, and I want it to be perfect. Especially since we only get so little big events, since our city's so poor.
I made sure I looked decent and then I found myself walking into the gym. When I walked in the smell of perfume hit me from everywhere.
It smelled like, some french whores all having a fucking perfume war.
I sneezed and pouted. Whatever that was my nose did not agree with it. I saw a male blue hedgehog, who was probably the only one besides me who didn't have some kind of cheap spray on.
He was talking to Shadow, the school's bad-boy. The blue male seemed upset, his face clearly showing it.
I went a little closer scooching in between two of the popular girls and eaves dropping on the conversation.
" Look, Shadow, I don't need to be teased about this subject, why cant you just drop it?" He murmured.
Shadow smirked. " Because ,' Sonic'. I would like to expose you, for what your family has done to mine."
Sonic eh?
The sapphire hedgehog rubbed his head with his finger tips clearly trying not to look so frustrated. " I don't know what your talking about." He muttered.
" You know exactly what I'm talking about hedgehog!" Shadow growled out. I went forward so I could hear a little more clearly but when I did I tripped on someones high heel falling forward.
" Whoa!, you okay?" I opened my clenched eyes and as soon as I did they met beautiful emerald green eyes.
He was officially hot.
His hands were on my waist as he slowly stood me straight letting go. " I-I, uh yeah, um t-thanks for not letting me fall?.." I whispered.
Sonic chuckled and smiled. " Any time. My name's Sonic, and yours is?" I felt heat rising up to my face as I straightened out my gown.
" My name is Amelia Rose, but you can call me Amy, if you'd like." He nodded." What a beautiful name. Who picked it?" I stood proudly as I looked him in the eyes a smile making its way onto my lips.
" My dad did." He was about to say something more when the intercom, interrupted us telling us to take a seat.
I sat in between the sapphire hedgehog and the ebony one just staring at Sonic. He was a beauty, he almost seemed perfect.
' Does he have a girlfriend? '
I felt my face heating up once again and I internally smacked myself. ' You idiot!, you should know by now that he probably does! '
They called names for about an hour until finally my name was called. " Amelia Rose. " People in the small audience began to clap as I walked up there getting my diploma and hugging the teacher.
" Sonic, M."
M.? ' What's the M stand for? '
He stood up and walked on stage smiling as he took his diploma. He came back and sat down. By the time the ceremony was done we were all bored as hell.
I watched Sonic get up and walk over to a woman at the end of the crowd. She was a dark purple hedgehog with eyes just like Sonic's.
She had tears streaming down her face as she handed Sonic a paper. Sonic looked at her before hesitantly opening it.
Sonic's P.O.V.
I opened the paper and I wanted to burst into tears. The paper read;

Missionary soldier Jules, M. Hedgehog has been found dead in action. He did not die from natural causes. On the day of February 1st, 1: 30 P.M. on the coast line of his mission/ journey into the Canadian's territory, sent to gather information on their new constructed weapons, his body was found along with the notes. Jules, M. Hedgehog was shot four times on the lower cavity of his stomach. Please be notified that we will release his body to elsewhere, notify us if you would like to have a service, for our lost soldier. We deeply apologize for the inconvenience. The service will cost you nothing, and we will have it at the spot he first left to our army base. Central train station.
We are sorry for your loss.

" Sonic, your father will be buried on February 4th.." My mother whispered. " M-Mom?, please t-tell me this is a joke.." I whispered back.
She shook her head and pulled me into her embrace crying. " Sonic, he would've loved to see you graduate.." Tears formed in the corners of my eyes.
" Will you excuse me for a moment? " My mom nodded and I rushed into the gym bathroom going into the stall and slamming it shut.
I fell to my knees sobbing. This wasn't supposed to happen!
If, I would've went for him then he would've still been alive! , I'm such a failure!, DAMN IT!
I banged my fist against the wall in frustration before slowly sliding down the wall and laying my head backwards.
" Dad.."
I heard foot steps and then I heard Shadow's voice. ' Just what I needed..'
" Sonic?, Sonic is that you?" He asked as he walked towards my stall. " Sonic's dying inside, please leave your fucking message and leave." I muttered.
He pushed the stall door open and bent down to face me. " Sonic?, um, you okay?" I narrowed my eyes.
" Would you leave me the fuck alone. Why don't you go tell the whole fucking school you saw me in here crying."
He sighed. " I know your dad died, I know how hard that is- " I felt myself getting weakened, as I cut him off.
" Was your guardians death your fault to?" I whispered. He looked at me in shock. " You think this is your fault?"
I nodded placing a hand on my head. " I know it's my fault. " He leaned against the wall aside me.
" Sonic, I'm your cousin, and I know that you've NEVER even harmed someone, not even a fly!, how could you have been the cause of this?"
I shook my head. " Because Shadow, I know that I didn't take his place. If I would've volunteered in his place he'd still be alive!"
" And what about you Sonic?!"
