At this point in time, Carla really wasn't thinking about shooting anyone, except perhaps for the police surrounding the building. All she had come for was the money, pure and simple. No ulterior motives or hidden agendas, at least not for her. Not worth the effort, in her mind, to have any other motives for a job like this.
But she was trapped. Her team was trapped. Actually, forget about the team, she thought to herself. You need to make sure you get out of here regardless of what happens to the team, Carla.
Carla looked around at the scene in front of her. She had her gun pointed at a blonde man with a red hoodie, and the three others in the room weren't making any moves to intervene. One of them had a gun. Probably mine or Rodriguez's, she thought to herself.
Although she held the red hoodie man at gunpoint, she knew she was at a disadvantage here. If bullets started flying, she would likely not make it out alive.
"Drop the gun" she said to Rick.
"First let Phillip and the rest of us go," Rick said, "then you can have the gun, sans bullets. The three of them will all walk down this service hallway a safe distance, then I'll toss the gun to you and join up with them."
Carla paused. She thought it over. Having the red hoodie man as a hostage might help with negotiations with the police, but at this point, it might not be worth the effort.
A few seconds passed.
"What would I get out of a deal like that?" she said. "I could just shoot you after your friends walk down the service hallway and then take your gun."
"If you let me go, I'll leave behind a note telling you where the casino vault is," Rick said.
