After the engagement, there were only 3 weeks left for the wedding out of which the first two weeks were filled with running around the venue and their homes. The wedding and the reception were going to take place in the same hotel as the engagement, but the other functions were going to happen in a villa they had rented for 2 days for the pre wedding functions. There were a total of 5 functions- Sangeet, Haldi, Mehendi, Wedding and Reception. These functions were being conducted in 4 days, Day 1 was Sangeet, Day 2 was Haldi and Mehendi, Day 3 was Wedding and Day 4 was Reception.
The Rathore House was bustling with relatives. Everybody was extremely excited for this wedding, keeping in mind the fact that Shivanya was the most favourite, most pampered child. Aunties, uncles, grandparents and cousins were roaming around, shouting and following instructions. The Sangeet had arrived faster than expected and everyone was finishing last minute jobs and getting ready to leave, while Esha was appointed to do nothing but be with Shivanya. Shivanya's only tasks in the past 2 weeks had been to go to the hospital and then directly go shopping from there to buy her outfits and jewelleries. She was adamant on buying her own saarees and lehengas for the functions, but her parents convinced her to at least let them buy her wedding dress and jewellery.
Currently she was up in her room, dressed in her heavy blue sharara and light makeup. The functions and the wedding were kept strictly family only, and the reception was reserved for acquaintances and others, so she did not want to pay a makeup artist and hair stylist just to eat and dance with family. She wanted to show them her true authentic self, and refused to change anything about her looks, despite multiple requests from her mother. Finally she was ready to go!
The Singhania house was no less. They were also running around here and there, getting ready and doing the last minute checks before they were to leave. Deven Singhania was sitting on the sofa in his kurta and Nehru jacket waiting for his wife and children to arrive, when he saw Dev descend the stairs. He felt a sense of sudden pride, for the first time in 10 years. Whatever differences they may have, his son had succeeded in his life, both personal and professional. He was proud of his choice, Shivanya, as well. She had already made a special place in his heart. She was kind, caring and immensely protective of her loved ones. And he was honoured to be a part of those people in her life. He often received calls from her to just say hi, or to say that she saw something that reminded her of him. His wife and younger kids too had received these calls. Dhruv, for the first time in a long time looked at someone other than his parents with respect and adoration. Shivanya was constantly in touch with the twins and gave them life advice whenever they needed it. In the past two months, she made a really special place in their lives and they couldn't wait to be her family.
~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~Finally they were all at the venue, sitting and waiting for performances. The couple of the hour was looking perfect together, as they usually did. On Shivanya's insistence the sangeet was strictly Bollywood themed. She was a huge SRK fan and a huge Bollywood fan in general. You know the people who defend Bollywood in
Instagram comment sections? Ya that's her. Since her families can't deny her anything, be it her own or her in laws, they went ahead with it. She was literally her own wedding's planner. She did everything her way, and obviously took Dev's input, who was equally excited. They chose their own outfits, which were complete secrets. Nobody else knew what they were wearing for what function, not even the other person.
