Takes place after 'Fracking Zombies' in which, Doc and Murphy realised Jordan didn't know how to play Go Fish, and decided to teach her when they swapped around seating positions, the three of them sat in the back together. Disclaimer: I don't know the 'actual' rules of Go Fish, this is just how I was taught.
"Hey, Doc, you got those cards in your pocket?" Murphy spoke up.
"Sure do, why?" Doc replied, Murphy leant forwards and looked over at me. "What? Why are you looking at me like that? Why is he looking at me like that?" I questioned, suspicious of his smirk as I looked to Doc for help. "We need to teach Jordan here how to play Go Fish, as she didn't join in earlier." He replied.
"Who says I don't know how to play?" I returned, Murphy chuckled.
"Oh, please. The way you were watching, you were the fish we were going to."
"Hey!" I complained as the pair laughed, I even caught Garnett chuckle from the wheel. "Fine, I'll learn." I gave in, turning and watching the pair deal three piles of seven."So, now what?" I questioned, examining my cards. Two sevens, a three, a queen, and three fives.
"Well, considering not all the cards are here, the game gets slightly tricky, but you have to try and collect 4 of the same card. Fives, kings, eights and so on." Doc explained, and I rolled my eyes as Murphy busied himself with looking at Doc's cards whilst his back was turned. "Alright, so I'd look at my deck and say..Murphy, got any queens?" I asked, Doc nodded, and Murphy shook his head. "Go fish, kid." He said, pointing to the pile that sat in the middle cup holder. I picked up a card, a two. "Now what?"
"Well, you asked me, so now I ask someone. Doc, got any nines?" I watched as Doc passed over a couple of cards. "So, it's Doc's turn now?"
"No, it's still mine. It's your turn until someone tells you to go fish." Murphy continued to explain, and I nodded. "This isn't actually that hard, but what do we do if we get a set, and when does the game stop?"
"When you get a set, place it face up on your lap. You're out when your cards run out, and when everyone hasn't got any left, the game is done." Doc finished explaining, and off we went."Jordan, got any kings?" Murphy asked, I glanced down, before shaking my head. "Go fish."
I looked at Doc, "got anyyyy sevens?" He passed me a card, and I looked up at Warren who had turned to watch. "Are you seeing this, they're robbing me!" Doc complained, looking at his pile of four. I laughed, looking down again, Doc needed a go so why not keep asking him? "Any threes to go with that?" I asked.
"Go fish." I picked up another card, this time it was a jack. Doc looked at me, a knowing look in his eyes. "Jordan, got any queens?"
"Jerk." I huffed, handing the card over. "Murphy, any sixes?"
"Go fish." Murphy replied, damn this man was lucky...or doing his usual bit of cheating. "Jordan, got any threes?" He smirked as I handed the card over.We continued this way for a decent half hour, I ended with the fives, nines and jacks. Doc had the sixes, whilst Murphy sat with a smirk, having everything else on his lap. "Alright, that's enough of that. Doc is too easy, and Murphy cheats. I liked it better when I was watching." I grumbled, turning back towards the window. "Oh, is the little girl a sore loser." Murphy teased, causing me to glance back with a glare. "Shut up, you know what you did."
"And I will repeat what I said earlier, it's a gift!"
"Yeah, a gift of cheating, shame you can't have the same gift at driving." I mocked, referring to our crash at the refinery. "In my defence that pole was not there before." Murphy responded, making us all laugh. "Whatever you say, oh gifted one." Warren pretended to bow, making Garnett chuckle and shake his head.Dammit I was lucky to find this group...
