A/N - TFG's sister here, my sister hadn't finished this piece, but she had written her plan for the rest of it at the end so I hope you guys can use that to imagine what chaos ensues next <3

Takes place in the 2 year gap between S3-S4

"Hey, I got some more wood." I said, walking over to the fire that Addy was currently attempting to light. "Great." She smiled, taking the few sticks and adding them to her pile. After a long attempt, the fire sparked to life and we silently cheered. Lucy sat beside me in the grass, leaning her head on my shoulder as I wrapped an arm around her. "Do you ever think we'll find the others?" She asked, looking up at me. My eyes drifted to Addy's, and she nodded, knowing I could find a way to answer. "Lucy, you have to understand something, alright? In this world, we can't say yes or no, my heart is telling me that they're out there, somewhere, but my head..." I trailed off, and she knew exactly what I meant.
"You don't think they're alive."
"I do, but I don't. Our team, they're strong, 10k with his sniper, and Doc with his hammers, Addy with her bat. We all had our favourite weapons, and they'd keep up safe. Put us together and we could take on just about anything. If they're out there, they're looking for each other." I promised, gazing up at the sky and sighing, "you should get some rest, we've got a long walk tomorrow." I told her. She nodded, laying down and resting her head on my lap.

"They're alive, Jordan. I know it." Addy spoke up an hour later, and I looked over at her.
"I want to believe it, but I have to be honest. I'm not going to hide things from her, the world is a dangerous place." I reminded.
"That's fair. She's tough, just like you."
"And you." Addy smiled, before looking out at the trees, holding a finger to her lips. I nodded, gently shaking Lucy awake, and holding a finger to my own lips, to which she sat up slowly and looked around too. I closed my eyes and listened, hearing slow crunching on some nearby leaves. "Zombie?" Addy looked at us, but I shook my head, "ok. Up the tree." She stood, and we walked over. First we gave Lucy a boost, then I looked at Addy. "No, I know that look, get up there." She glared at me but I shook my head.
"I can jump higher, my zombie side is very efficient when I need it to be." We locked eyes, and I folded my arms neither of us giving in until Lucy's voice filled our heads, "guys, I see a light!" She warned. Addy sighed, before accepting my boost up, and settling on a branch, before reaching her hand down to me. I took a step back, before running and scrambling up the tree, grabbing a low branch and using it to haul myself up, grabbing Addy's hand and using it to help stabilise myself.

Once we were all up, I saw the light in the distance. Then Addy tapped my shoulder, pointing in the other direction where another light shone. "There's zombies nearby." I looked at Lucy, before shaking my head. She'd try and save them, and in doing so, she'd lead the strangers straight to the tree where we hid.
