JESSICA HAD NEVER BEEN IN A LONGER CLASS IN HER LIFE. Perhaps it was the fact that Justin was just at the desk on her right, and she badly wanted to get away from his stares on the side of her head and the smell of him, but it felt like she had been in there for years.

The sound of the bell for second period was like music to her ears. Usually Jessica would take the time to chat to someone while packing her books away neatly and in order into her bag, but it wasn't back then anymore.

She wasn't the same girl anymore.

Instead her books where shoved into her bag, half hanging out and pages probably folded at the corners from the rush she was in. She did not want to spend another second in that classroom with him.

In the rush of getting through the other students, she makes it to her next class with no bother, and with no sign of Justin Foley following behind her. He probably knew that she was avoiding him at this point, but she still felt herself touching her hips and pulling her shirt down like her skin was showing.

She hadn't dreamed of Bryce Walker since the dance. Since she opened herself up to Justin and allowed him to kiss the marks that Bryce left off of her body. He was so... gentle with her. And Justin had never been a gentle lover.

But although she hadn't had dreams of what happened to her, she still covered every part of her body like she had to.

Lunch. The better part of the day. The part of the day where she would sit and hold hands with Alex across the table and act like everything was okay. Like they were happy and in love.

But they weren't. Or at least, she wasn't. And it wasn't fair to him. It wasn't fair to Alex who had done nothing but be there for her, supported her through everything and never wanted to hurt her.

So she sat across the table from him, picking at the pasta salad that she had just bought as he picks at his slice of pizza, happy that his mother had finally allowed him to take money and not an organic lunch she had made for him.

"You seem off."

Her head snaps up, looking him in the eyes from possibly the first time since they sat down.

"I'm just distracted—"

"Thinking about Tyler?"

The air was sucked out of her as she looks at Alex, his face a little less happy than it usually is. She forgot he was friends with Tyler, or not friends, but they were mutual. Tyler was nice to Alex, and Alex was nice to Tyler.
