That Morning

You woke up this morning with a splitting head ache, and your body was stiff and sore from the cold weather.

"Shit, i left the window open again."

You over slept, you stayed and work late hours at your job last night to keep up with the investigations, but its kicking your ass.

You slowly sit up and tapped your toes on the floor, preparing yourself to walk across your ice cold room. You listened for a moment to the sounds in the city, you took in a deep cold breath and you shivered, you tried to close the window with all your strength, you felt your neck and shoulders tense up as you slammed it down.

Turning around towards your bed you were able to reach a blanket, and you put it over your head and wrapped he rest of your body in it, and shuffled your feet through your small studio apartment.

You stepped into the shower and relax yourself, finally. As you stood under warm water, you can't help but think of how proud you are, and how happy you are to have made it this far on your own. You know you don't have much, but you're content.

"Ugh i left my towel in the room!" You say angrily.

You shake it off and laugh at yourself, but you know you won't be laughing when you have to make the trip through your freezing home.
