As you're exploring your new city, you decide to get some coffee. Partly because its so cold, that you're giving yourself a head ache from clenching your teeth so hard.
You grab the cold metal handle and it practically sticks to your hand when you try to let go. And when you manage to let go, you shake your hands and rub them together.
"Ill never learn i guess." you said making the woman behind me chuckle. "Im not from around here." you say to her.
"Really?" she asks. "I understand its hard adjusting, so don't beat yourself up for it. Looks like you're doing great!"
"Thank you!" you say with a warm smile.
When your drink is ready and paid for you make your way to the door and hesitated, It began to snow. So you turn around and try to find a seat in the crowded room.
You find 2 empty seats by the window, and you're glad because you like to people watch.
An hour later you begin to pack up your stuff to leave when you hear a man ask,
"Is this seat taken?"
Still gathering your things you reply, "No actually Im here alone." You made no eye contact.
"Oh alright." he says
You look up to tell him goodbye, but his eyes catch yours. It took you a second to realize who he was, the guy you were basically in love with as a teenager. You stood there gazing at him trying to speak, but they just wouldnt come out.
He smiled. "Im Michael."
"I know that." you said quietly
"Really? So why are you leaving so soon? We just met." He says, "I don't even know your name."
"Oh." you say setting your stuff back down and climbing back up onto the chair. "Y/N"
"Wow." His eyes twinkled. "What a nice name." He replied with a smile.
