I Like That You're Broken

"Tae, I love you, will you go out with me?"

in the silent classroom, just the two of them, Park Jimin and Kim Taehyung. The golden hour shone through the classroom windows, illuminating an orange gleam through the windows. The windows were slightly opened with a small breeze fluttering the curtains. Truly, the golden hour.

Taehyung couldn't believe what he was hearing, his long time childhood crush, has finally confessed to him. He was washed over with happiness; he couldn't even speak. He nodded in agreement. His eyes became teary, whereas Jimin showed his famous eye smile. They embraced in each other's arms, not understanding how limited and precious this time was.

"Today is the famed red moon day in our city" the news reporter spoke, sharing the message to all watching the channel.

   Today is Taehyung and Jimin's first date. "My little boy is all grown up! Already going on a date!" Taehyungs mother exclaimed, while his father looked at him with tearful eyes. Taehyung's parents bid goodbye and have fun to him. He went on his way to the nearby park, the meeting spot with Jimin. 

    As he arrived at the entrance of the park, he saw Jimin sitting patiently on a bench. The park was unusually busy today. Just as he was about to call out Jimin's name, he received a call from an unknown caller. Being the good person he is, he answered the call. "Hello?", there was heavy breathing coming from the other end of the line. "Who is this?" a female voice suddenly spoke, "Kim Taehyung, I'm your classmate, Sumin, Ahn Sumin".

   Suddenly, a crowd rushed by blocking Taehyung from hearing anything else that Sumin said. "Sumin, can you repeat that? It was a bit noisy at first," Taehyung said.

"I'm going to die". With that, Taehyung's cheerful demeanor vanished as he realized what was about to happen.

"Look up, Taehyung". He saw her silhouette sitting on the roof of the building across the street. "Sumin! Wait right there, I'll come get you!"

"NO! Stay right there and watch me". He watched as she dropped, then he too collapsed.

   I woke up with a heavy body, I was in the hospital. I suddenly remembered. Sumin tried to commit suicide.

 "Sumin! Ahn Sumin! Is she alright?" I frantically asked the nurse beside me. She looked at me with confusion. "You must've hit your head when you fell down, sweetie, you're Ahn Sumin." I ran to the mirror in the bathroom, and right in that mirror was the reflection of Ahn Sumin. "We found your phone in your pocket and called your mother, she should be here to pick you up soon." I felt terrible, I was now in another person's body. "But, I'm not Ahn Sumin, I'm Kim Taehyung" I mumbled. "Could you repeat that? I couldn't hea-oh! the doctor is here!". 

I wanted cry. "Excuse me but, I'm not Ahn Sumin, I'm Kim Taehyung! I could tell you my address and everything!" Suddenly, a woman bursts in. "AHN SUMIN! CAUSING TROUBLE FOR THE DOCTORS!?!" She then turns to the nurse and doctor, "I deeply apologize for my child", she presses my head down to a bow.

   The doctor and nurse left and the woman in front of me gave me the death glare. "You bitch, I had to leave work early because of you! You fucking ugly ass." she spoke with venom spilling from her mouth. Those words stung my heart, but I had no choice but to follow her home.

    Sumin's apartment was small and typical, containing two small rooms, one bathroom, one kitchen and dining room. It was filled with clutter that Taehyung wasn't used to. Sumin's mother went back to work, leaving Taehyung alone in the house. That night, he cried himself to sleep.

   In the morning, his eyes were red and puffy, not an amazing sight to see. He quickly took a shower trying not to mind that his new body was the opposite gender's. He got dressed and looked for something to eat in the kitchen. There was a note left by Sumin's mother on the table.

Taehyung hung out the clothes to dry, he then went on his journey to school. Along the way, he saw his house and his mother watering the flowers. He ran over and hugged her, "Mom! I've missed you so much!" his mother looked at him in confusion, "are you a classmate of Taehyung's?" she slowly took Taehyung's arm off of hers and ran back into the house. Taehyung's heart broke for the third time.

At school, he saw his old friends in the courtyard and his body. He ran up to his body and grabbed it, "Sumin! Sumin! Its you right? I don't know how this happened but we need to find how we could change back!" his body fell down on the ground. "Hey hey, Sumin are you okay? You're acting a little crazy aye?" One of his best friends, Jungkook, did a little cuckoo motion. His other friends, Yoongi and Seokjin looked at him with disgust. His heart broke another time.

Taehyung watched as an imposter was in his body and taking his life away, he watched as Jimin brushed Sumin's hair.

In class he covered his face, the teacher called his name but he forgot that he was Ahn Sumin now instead of Kim Taehyung. "Your body sure is full, but your brain is empty", the class laughed at the joke that the teacher made. His heart broke for the 5th time. In physical education, no one would partner up with him. At lunch, no one would eat lunch with him, all he could do was watch as his body left with his love. Even though it was the same classroom, it felt like it was the end of the world.

When school was dismissed, he reported for class duty. His partner skipped and went home, leaving him to carry paperwork. "Your partner already went home? Just ask some friends to help you do it." The teacher said with ease. He saw Yoongi and Seokjin in the classroom, but couldn't muster up the courage to ask them. They would probably decline him anyways, because he wasn't in his real body.

At this time, there wasn't anybody who would help out Sumin. I'm such a bad person, even though we were in the same class, I never noticed it. I started packing the class materials up to start taking them back to the art room myself. "Sumin?" I turned around and saw Jimin, "Sumin, I'll help you take some." That's right, Jimin would care for everyone! Even Sumin! "this morning, you were talking with Taehyung, is anything wrong?" thats right, Jimin will probably believe me. "Listen Jimin, I'm not Ahn Sumin, I'm actually Kim Taehyung! I don't know how but me and Sumin actually swapped bodies yesterday." He looked confused, "Pardon, I don't understand what you are trying to say..." I started to speak, "I can tell you all of the memories we had togethor!". "You confessed to me and we were going to go on a date yesterday-" he cut me off, "I don't know if you know but, I'm gay, I'm going out with Tae right now, I'm sorry if I made you misunderstand". With that he carried the last box and left.

 My heart shattered.
