( For all you Lewi and Danny girls, (which I have yet to find :o) they'll be in this chapter. Fair warning, their personalities in this book are completely opposite from what they are in real life. Enjoy. ^_^ )

When I wake up, I see Duke laying on the floor next to my bed. His eyes are closed, his head resting on his paws. How did he get in here? When did he come back?

This morning I stay in bed. I really don't feel like facing the world. Okay, so maybe I don't feel like facing Charley. But can you blame me? He'll probably scold me for yesterday and then tattle on me. I swear he's still a child sometimes.

Out of nowhere, small little pebbles start hitting my window. I can't help but actually get out of bed to go and look. But as soon as I open the window and look down, I regret my choice. Of course.

"I'm coming up." He shouts to me.

"No!" With that I shut my window hard. He won't be able to find a way in.

"Why not?"

A scream escapes my lips as Jake's voice sounds behind me. I spin around and he laughs. "H-how the hell d-did you get-t in here?"

"Secret." He steps close to me, making me step back. Luckily he stands still.

"I don't k-know who you think you-u are but you n-need to leave, now." I stammer out. He's creeping me out so much right now.

His face falls and he looks angry. "Stop stuttering and get ready, I'm taking you out."

"No, I d-don-"

Jake walks over to me and takes my wrist in his grip. He brings me across the hall and pushes me into the bathroom. "Get ready." His voice is deeper, his eyes darker. "Now!"

I do as he says, not wanting to piss him off farther, and he shuts the door in my face. A lump forms in my throat but I swallow it down. I walk over to the shower and start the water before peeling my clothes off and stepping in. The warm water relaxes my muscles only a slight bit.

How did I get into this mess? Everything good about Jake, which wasn't much in the first place, is completely gone. All I see is a jerk who does what he wants and that really pisses me off.

When I'm done in the shower, I step out. A pile of clothes sits on the floor by the door. Jake must of put them there. I put them on and exit the bathroom. He is standing in the hall, his back resting against the wall, his arms crossed. His eyes narrow as he looks at me. I have to look at my feet to stop from blushing under his gaze. He always seems to have the effect on me, no matter how much I hate him.

"All I have t-to do is brush my hair and p-put some makeup on." I stutter, still looking down. He pushes himself off of the wall and comes over to me. Jake places his pointer finger under my chin and lifts my head up so my eyes meet his. I can't read the emotion behind them.

"Hurry up and stop stuttering." He puts his hand down and steps back, allowing me to go into my room. I do what I said I'd do and when I'm done, he drags me down the stairs and outside. Strangely, a black Mustang is parked in front of my house. That wasn't there before when I was looking out of the window. What the?

"C'mon, we need to leave before your precious brother sees us."

"Where are you taking me?" I ask. He shakes his head and opens the passenger door for me. I step inside, the air conditioner gently blowing. He closes the door and walks around the front, gets in, starts the car, and pulls away.

"Are you going to tell me?" I ask him. He makes a left, heading into town.

"No." I let out an annoyed huff and cross my arms.
