Amy's POV
My name is Amy Swan, when I was a kid my parents used to say the reason our last name is Swan was because of my great grandparents, who were Jews. When they went to Brazil, that's where I'm from, running away from Germany during the beginning of the Second World War they had to change their last name, abandon their religion and culture. It was a fresh but not bright beginning. They didn't have much money with them since all their money was left behind in banks in Germany. In the 2nd generation, that's my grandparents generation, the financial situation of the family got a lot better when my grandfather decided to start his business using the one thing his father had taught him. How to fabricate and fix clocks, and that's pretty much what my family works on since then.
Okay now back to the present, I'm 18 years old, and right now my parents and I are flying over to NY because apparently someone is really sick and they need something in my blood to get better. The hospital called me a few hours ago and asked me if they could send someone to collect the material, but I said I'd go over because I wanted to know who I was gonna help and also because they said the degree of compatibility is only common between family members. Oh yeah, I'm adopted. Well I'm kind of adopted, for everyone else, including the rest of my family, I'm the kid my mom was waiting for 18 years ago, the thing is, the same day her baby girl died, I was left right in front of her house, I know, it's cliché, so yeah, I pretty much took the poor baby's place.
Okay, back to the degree of compatibility, since I am not my parents' kid, I asked them to go to New York with me so this way I'd find out who this person is and if they're related to me. Not that I don't love my parents, but I just really wanna find out why someone would go all the way to Brazil from the USA just to get rid of a two-month-old baby.
It's been one hour since we landed and they just took my material. Some nurse said the person I'm helping is a girl and that she's kinda famous, but that she couldn't say who it was, apparently it was requested by the family, but she also said her mother wanted to meet me and that she would be here in a few.
I didn't know a few minutes could feel like an eternity, but that's probably because I'm anxious right now, let's not forget this woman might be my mother as well.
I heard someone knocking on the door and after that a woman I never imagined I'd meet walked in with a pale expression and shaking hands, she looked just as shocked as I was, which made my father walk over to her and help her to the chair beside mine, yeah I'm in a chair not a bed, I'm not sick, they're just collecting some of my blood.
- Are you sure you're in the right room? - I asked her, the woman I've known for years now, the woman who didn't even know I existed, the woman who is also my idols mother, gosh she is for sure in the wrong room.
- And why wouldn't I be? - she asked with a frown - Are you not Amy Swan? - she asked this time even more confused;
- Well, yeah, I am. But you're Dianna De La Garza. - I said in disbelief;
- You know my name? - she asked and I nodded in response - Demi's fan? - she asked again and once more I nodded - So I think you're gonna like to know that not only you're helping her, but you're also her sister.
- Are you kidding me? - I asked in a pissed tone;
- Amy! - my mom said reproving my tone with Dianna;
- It's okay. And I'm sorry, I didn't introduce myself. - Dianna said shaking my mother's hand - I'm Dianna.
- I'm Caroline and this is my husband, Angelo. We are Amy's parents. - my mom said in a protective way. I could feel that she's not very comfortable with this whole situation;
