Episode 5- The First Day is Always the Hardest

:The screen opens to the afternoon sky over the Falia School of Arts and Magic. Inside the classroom 2-C, the group of first year students listened to a handsome, young human scholar reading from a text book labeled "The Great Warring Kingdoms Period". He had short black hair and glasses while his clothing was form fitting and sleek. Zack was sleeping in the back of the class while Celes doodled on a sheet of paper. Insania and Leifu payed close attention to the teacher. Peter was writing down notes in a journal:

Teacher- And with the alliance of Falia and Elva, the combined strength of the two kingdoms were able to defeat Granda. The giant menace was sent back to the north and were never heard from again...Aside from the one giant that's in this classroom.

:The students laughed while Leifu looked away with a sigh:

Teacher- Any questions?

:Leifu raised her hand as the Teacher acknowledged her with a hand gesture:

Teacher- Go ahead.

Leifu- What happened to the giants? If they were so powerful, why do they not just come back and attack? Or rather, why do we not just finish them off?

Teacher- Granda is covered in snow for the majority of the year. Falia and Elva were able to severely wound their major generals, but traversing Granda's blizzards are too hazardous. Giant's are powerful, but are nothing without a leader. That was just one of their weaknesses.

:Leifu nods as the teacher begins walking over to her:

Leifu- What are the other weaknesses?

Teacher- Not many know. What we have learned, aside from the leader complex, is morale.

:Leifu tilts her head in confusion as the teacher continued:

Teacher- After the Battle of Heien Pass, they were deflated with such a crushing defeat.. On one hand, you have elves. They have been trained to keep their emotions in check. The other, are giants. They are passionate and full of emotions.

:The teacher turns around and heads back to the front of the class:

Teacher- Then there are humans...a balance of the two. In the end, there is no dominate race. Studies show that all of us share the same basic genetics.

:Insania raised her hand as the teacher nods to her:

Insania- If that's the case...then why is there such resent towards giants? There's even tension between our races too.

:The teacher nods as he closed his book and placed it on his desk:

Teacher- There is only one word for it: Ignorance. Take Leifu for example.

:Leifu gasped as the teacher motions her to stand up:

Teacher- Insania, please stand.

:Insania blinks and stands to her feet:

Teacher- Aaaand...Celes.

:Celes immediately stops doodling and quickly acts as if she was paying attention:

Celes- Twenty-five!

Teacher- ...This is history and ethics, not math. Stand up.

:Celes laughs nervously as she itched the back of her head while standing. The teacher motions for the three of them to come to the front of the class. Zack slowly wakes up and looks at the three. Leifu was on the left, followed by Insania, then Celes:

Teacher- What differences do you see, class?

:One student raised his hand and answered:

Student- Leifu is tall....really, REALLY tall.
