For that few minutes of half-time during a football game or during a competition, you don't have to be yourself. You can be whatever character you wish. Your personality will shine through on how you perform, but you aren't average anymore.
Those minutes of performing can be amazing if you let them be. The long practices pay off eventually. Leave all of your problems, worries, and thoughts because none of it matters when you perform. The rush you get is unbelievable. You will learn to cherish the little thugs you gain through marching band and color guard. The friends you will have earned can NEVER be replaced, and thr feeling of being happy again is something to be grateful for.
Marching band and color guard is something to take the time out of your everyday normal lifestyle. I guarantee, if you don't fight it, you will enjoy it.
