"You know you shouldn't be the one upset with me, after all you were the one who jumped me. Literally." He gave me a disapproving look.
I wasn't upset with him until he said that. I don't know why but his comment just made me snap. I stopped so suddenly that he didn't realize, and he bumped into me. Before he could say anything or recover from what just happened I yelled at him.
"Jump you? I thought someone had broken the treaty between the school and the Outcast and you had put my best friend in danger!"
I was referring to the treaty that banned the Outcast from entering the school perimeter. The Outcast were a group of vampires who thought they could just take over and kill all the humans they can for their blood. They were so desperate- more like addicted to drinking blood. Things got so bad that they even started killing each other and other vampires just for a little blood. Only a very few vampires learned to control their hunger. The few who were able to control their selves were then allowed to the community and allowed to walk among humans. The ones who couldn't control their hunger made a treaty with the ancient family of the town , which was actually my family, saying that they would stay out of Redwood as long as we didn't come into their "territory"
I thought Castiel was an Outcast which was why I had attacked him. It's my job to protect this school from the Outcast. Even though they agreed to the treaty, they aren't well known for keeping their word. A couple of years ago they had tried to attack us, but their plan had a flaw in it. My father had stopped them before anybody could have gotten hurt. He threat to destroy their "home" if they ever stepped foot on Redwood again and that's when they created the new treaty saying that they won't come into our territory as long we don't go near theirs.
Castiel coughed and brought me back to reality.
Instead of throwing a snarky remark my way, he looked down at the floor and said,
"You're right, I probably would've done the same thing."
I stared at him with disbelief. I couldn't believe he had just said that I was right.
"You ... you would've?" I stammered out.
He looked up and I saw in his eyes that he was telling the truth.
"Yeah.." He answered.
Then he reached out to touch my shoulder. I jumped away from his touch, surprised from the contact. He furrowed his brows in confusion and I gave him an apologetic smile.
"Uh well I think we should really get on with the tour." I laughed nervously.
He still looked confused and a little hurt.
"Yeah. Right, I forgot." He gestured with one hand in front of him. "After you." He smiled.
Well he recovered from that rejection quickly.
I suggested we go ahead and go to the top floor as he nodded and followed after me.
Redwood High is a pretty big school. I've heard that it used to be the Capitol building in the city, but they made some renovations and just turned it into a high school. So you can just imagine how long this stupid tour is going to take.

I decided to end the tour around lunch time. Not even I know where everything is in this school. Plus the upper half of the school is basically forbidden. We never use it cause the schools already big enough for us to function.
I search the cafeteria for Harper until I find her in our little corner where we meet up for lunch. I try waving at her, but she doesn't notice. When I finally make it to the other side of the cafeteria, I see her talking to somebody.
Castiel.
Ugh the last thing I want is to hang out with him at lunch. I try turning around before Harper notices me, but of course it's too late.
"Amanda! Wait up!" she shouts as my pace starts to quicken.
Castiel's cool and all but I was hoping to talk to Harper ....
about him. Now how am I suppose to do that if he's going to be hanging out with us.
Castiel and Harper are going to catch up to me sooner or later, so I give up and turn around. This is going to be the longest lunch in the world. Usually I wouldn't be complaining, but this is different.
