Chapter Five

“Gran! I’m home!!” I said throwing my bag on the couch. “In the kitchen!” She said, I walked in as she was placing a plate of chicken in front of Dylan. “Have a nice day?” Gran asked, “Pretty good.” Out of nowhere a golden retriever jumped on me, licking my face. “Oh my gosh! Where did this thing come from?” I asked rubbing her head. “Found her out back at the bakery today, Dylan wanted to bring her home. But I told him we have to find the owner.” Gran said putting a plate of wet dog food on the floor. “Aaww we can’t keep her??” I asked bending to pet her. “I don’t Bubbles would like that.” She said, “Oh no, where is he?” I asked looking around the room. “Hiding in your room.” I turned and went up the stairs. Sure enough, I shut my room door and Bubbles ran out from under my bed. “Aww hey, you don’t like the new house guest?” I asked as my phone vibrated in my pocket. It was Izzy, “Hey, movie night Friday. You’re invited. Xx.”

Friday came around and we still had Turkey, as Dylan started calling her, Gran was having a little trouble finding a home. “I’m gonna take my clothes to school, so I won’t be back tonight.” I told Gran as I ate breakfast. “You kids best be good, I don’t want you out late, either.” “Yes, ma’am, everything Will be safe and toxic free,” I said rolling my eyes, “I have to go now.” She kissed me on the cheek and I headed out the door. Now to catch a taxi. I had been having a little luck the past few days but today was busy I was never gonna have any luck. I was on the street Zayn had showed me before but no one was stopping and it was starting to rain I finally just started walking when a taxi pulled up beside me. “Get in!” I turned around to see Liam, the rain now battering across the windshield of the taxi. “Liam, what’re you doing?” I asked as the rain got harder. “Saving you from the rain, now get in.” His accent was what got me, I slid in beside him. I told him the name of my school and looked at Liam. “Why did you stop?” I asked him and he smiled, “What? Can’t help a girl out when she needs a ride?” He asked, “No, no, but you can’t when you’re Liam Payne from One Direction.” He laughed, “It’s the least I could do since Niall almost caused you to burst your head open.” “He did not, I’m just clumsy.” We pulled up in front of the school. “You want me to pay?” I asked reaching inside my bag. “No!” He said. “Ok then, thank you. See you later.” I said jumping out into the rain.

“AHHH YOU JUST NOW TELL ME?!?!?!?!!” Callie screamed as we waited for Izzy and Alex at the front door of the school, I’d just finished telling her about Liam. “I didn’t want you disrupting your classes to scream about One Direction.” I said seeing Alex and Izzy. “If he didn’t have a girlfriend I’d say he has a thing for you.” She winked at me. “What’re you guys talking about?” Alex asked coming up to us. “Michaela shared a taxi with Liam this morning!!” Callie screamed as Millie walked past “Ha! In your dreams.” She said as Madison laughed. “Millie, unlike you, we don’t have to lie about our meetings with the boys.” Alex said, “So I’m a liar now?” Millie asked, “You always were, sweetie.” Izzy said, at that Millie slammed her backwards into the door. “Whoa whoa whoa!” I said grabbing Millie’s shoulder. “Don’t touch me!” Millie shouted, “Well you don’t touch Izzy.” I said. Millie’s hand hit my face so hard I barely had time to process before Callie was on Millie’s back and Madison and Alex were wrestling in the floor. “Girls!!” The headmaster ran towards us but the girls kept fighting, scratching and pulling. I pulled Callie off of Millie and Izzy got Alex. “Everyone to my office, now!” The headmasters voice rang through the halls gathering everyone’s attention.

“Now what is this all about?” The headmaster asked as he sat down at his desk. “They cornered me and called me a liar. I don’t even know what it was about.” Millie said quickly. “No! That is not what happened!!” I screamed, “Headmaster please! She started it!” Izzy said beside me. “I promise it’s the honest truth, I wouldn’t ever have started a fight with the new girl and her friends.” Millie looked so innocent but I knew she wasn’t. “Is this true girls?” He looked at us. “No, sir.” Izzy said along with Callie and Alex. They all looked at me. “No.” I said. “Very well. Detention for everyone all next week..” “What?! No!!” Callie said, everyone else started complaining but I just sat there knowing that complaining wasn’t gonna get me out of it.
