If you times me by you, is it to be?
Can the quantum mechanics of love overcome our reality?
Do we find ourselves floating on our cloud of ecstasy,
Where all you hear is that heartwarming melody
Where the girl gets attention and the guy some affection and it cuts to a scene where they're both in detention
And you see her eyes seek his and he notices her there
Because the boy always sees the girl as if she's the most fair,
Of them all, A B C to Z, only need 8 letters to spell you and me
I love you is 3 words spoken unnecessarily
Because if it's meant to be then won't you be able to see that things fall into place like waves in the sea
The wind pushes one way and the moon guides thee
In the direction of your heart, Cupid's Arrow, a compass or compatibility chart
Can my starsign explain why we fell apart?
We blame it on others, each other, ourselves, our situation and circumstance, deep my mind delves
Was I not good enough?
You certainly aren't
Could I do better now?
You certainly can't
And we process and reflect and reassess and constantly obsess,
On what went wrong and right and things we could have said in every fight,
But all we end up with is an illusory mess
Melodrama played out at its best
So maybe quantum physics, zodiacs and palm cards can analyse, the science behind how we feel, what's written in the skies
But they can't see what's etched in our hearts, the embers of our soul, the stories not yet told
But maybe one day as we grow old and we look upon the flames of our existence and we see the sparks again, we'll notice how the fire burns from within
And from this our true story will begin.
