Delilah POV
Come on, just put one foot in front of the other, you’re so close aaaaaand… Congrats you just got out of bed, Delilah!
Yeah, in case you haven’t noticed, I am so not a morning person. I would rather get to school late and get a detention than getting out of my comfortable position on my nice, warm bed.
“Morning, Li!” I hear a cheerful, but deep, voice call out as I look out my window at my best friend in the whole world, Taylor.
Taylor and I have been living next to each other ever since I moved here in the summer before fifth grade and we’ve been friends ever since. I know it’s cliche, but I sort-of have a crush on the blonde, blue eyed boy but I would never act on it. Why, you ask? One, because it would totally and completely ruin our friendship, which I never want to happen. Secondly, because of his popular, bitch girlfriend that will literally ruin my life and then walk away with no guilt whatsoever.
I know, my life is completely cliche, sometimes I intentionally do something weird just to avoid the weird feeling of being like everyone else, of not being original.
“Ugh. I hate school, I hate mornings, I hate everything!” I grumble back.
“Except me!”
No, Taylor, of course I don’t hate you, well, most of the time. Other times, I will strangle you, and this is one of those times. I swear I will never understand how Taylor can be so alive at seven o’clock in the morning, it’s inhuman.
I put on my nerdy glasses and really look out the window, actually able to see figures instead of blurs. Taylor is staring at me with a weird smile on his face, which makes him even more cute than he already was. Sigh.
"At least today's Friday!" Ah, Taylor, ever the optimist. Doesn't he know that Friday's are the worst because the school day goes by so much slower? Thursday is the real deal, because the day always flies by.
"See you downstairs. I'll be ready in five. Don't drive off without me!" I shout to Taylor as he bounds downstairs on those long, athletic legs of his.
I put on a random outfit, not really caring what I look like before I jump down the stairs, wanting to get outside before Taylor leaves. I may have said before that I don't mind being late, but I'm a nerd who hates school, but hates being late even more.
"Hurry up before we're late." Taylor calls through the open window of his car before I jump in and we drive away into the sunset.
Ha, just joking, let me say that right, ...before I jump in and we drive away to hell.
