Valeria's POV
Suddenly in a chef's outfit, I turned to see which palidin I was in the presence of. Yellow paladin armor. "Hey chef!" The kid called. "When's the lobster gonna be ready?" I looked down an enormous plate with meats, vegetables, and a huge lobster in the middle. Next to it was a bottle clearly labeled poison. "Just a minute!" I called. "What'd you say your name was again?"
Hunk. Yellow Palidin.
"That's not important!" I say. Not wanting the same mistake I made with lan- nevermind.I slowly grab the bottle and lightly pour it onto the lobster. It feels like it's coming out in slow motion. And it smells oddly like gasoline.
I watch, for a moment. The pure joy. Utter happiness with every spice he dabbles onto the plate. This isn't real. Your just killi-... this isn't real.
"Hey so, what is this monster of a meal?" He practically drools at the feast. I didn't prepare it, but I feel oddly... proud of myself. Like I accomplished something. Weird.
I step over the shattered glass of the bottle. The overturned tray. The stiff body. I don't know these people. Why do I feel remorse? I've killed before.
I stare past at the green door in front of me.
Boom.
