(Rex's past)

Chapter 3

After I gave up and I couldn't resist anymore. I accepted my faith to die in his hands. After I closed my eyes waiting for my last moment. All a sudden, I felt my self on the ground and the strange power stopped. I couldn't open my eyes to see what's happening. But I heard what was going on.

"You came after me!" Said the guy who was choking me. he sounded like he was in pain and about to die.

"You really are a trouble maker aren't you Alexander?."

Wait I know this voice..it was Rex!. What is he doing here?. I tried opening my eyes to see what's happening. After a lot of effort
I opened it. And I saw Alexander lying on the floor and bleeding to death. Rex's right hand went through his stomach. I saw Rex trying to help me stand. He got blood all over his hands.

"Don't touch me?." said I.

"if you're gonna be a girl you gonna die here Mike, there is a lot of demons outside the castle want to kill us." Said Rex.

I screamed at him saying: "Rex why do they want to kill us."

"We killed their Lord Mike, that's no good in both demons and humans world." Said Rex.

I saw the demons coming from everywhere, even from the underground. I was scared to death. I looked at Rex and told him in fear:

"What are we going to do know Rex?"

"Run for your life Mike"

We started running outside the castle. There is a lot of ugly demons behind us, I was scared to death.

"Keep running Mike I will protect you if anything happens."

"why are you protecting me?"

"Didn't I told you, you and I could really be good friends. It kinda sucks going throw these adventures alone Mike."

"REX!, aren't you strong enough to defeat those demons since you killed there lord?."

Rex looked at me and he seemed excited and said:

"Yes I can Mike, but it wouldn't be that fun. You need to enjoy your life. Now run old man run."

It seems like Rex Is getting used to this kind of situations every day.

"Come Mike, from here,this is my house. They won't follow us if we got in, " Said Rex.

We finally arrived at his house. It was a big house with a lot of rooms. It seems like Rex spends most of the time in the living room judging by all the food on the ground.

"Welcome to my humble house, Mike," Said Rex.

"before you even start talking Rex I want you to explain everything right now." Said I.

"Ok, please have a seat."

After we sat together Rex took a deep breath and said:

"Alright Mike I'm gonna tell you everything you need to know but I want you to stay calm no matter what ok?."

I gathered all the courage I had and said
"ok."

"Mike I'm a hybrid demon."

"what you mean?" said I.

"I mean that I'm half demon half human. I think Alexander told you somethings about me if not let me tell you. My father (Surgat), was one of the strongest demons in the world. He also the one who created the way to open the door between both demons and humans world. The first time he went to the human's world, it was the first time he saw my mom and they fall in love together. And even though he told her that he is a demon. My mom didn't care. She loved him from the bottom of her heart and she wanted to be with him. After that, the leaders of the demons world wanted Surget to be dead for being involved with a human. My father fought to the death for protecting me and my mother. But my father did a mistake by forgetting to close the door. After the demons saw it, they kept coming through it. They destroyed cities and killed humans. My father fought alone trying to kill all the demons that came to the human's world. And after a lot of years, he finally did it. The human's world is safe for now. But I wish that ends here. Some of the demons that came to your world Mike, weren't that strong. But one of them was the strongest. He didn't fight my father at the beginning. He waited for his chance until my father is out guard. And he killed him. He killed my parents Mike. I managed to escape because I knew that I wouldn't have a chance against him. I wish I hadn't escaped but I was a child. I hate myself for being a coward."

"Sorry Rex I'm so sorry to hear that," said I.

"That's ok," said Rex.

And then he looked at me in anger and said:

" I need your help, Mike. I need to find the demon who killed my family. I want to take my revenge. Just help me with it and you can leave me after that." And he kept saying:

" You don't have to be afraid of me. the difference between demons and half-demons, Is that we are stronger and also we do share feelings and everything exist in humans, Mike. But normal demons they don't have feelings or anything. They hate humans more than anything else. The only demon that I know who really had a white heart was my dad and he is gone, but his killer is not. So Mike, I need your help and that really would mean something to me."

I stood up and walked towards the door and said:

"Rex I know your upset and everything but you're asking me to put myself in danger among demons, that's insane." Said I.

"don't worry my friend I got you fully protected," said Rex.

"I'm sorry but I'm gonna leave Rex. I hope you are good on your own."
As soon as I reached the door, Rex said:

"I was being nice to you Mike, you really don't have a choice. A lot of demons wants to kill you just for being with a famous guy like me."

"Wait What?. Why?" said I.

Rex laughed at me saying:
" I'm on the top most wanted list in demon's world. Isn't that great?."

I screamed saying: " NO REX!, it is not."

"anyway, wither you like it or not. You're with me on everything starting from today Mike. Cool huh?"

I was shocked, I couldn't say a word at all. Rex was talking about this like it was nothing.

"you hungry?" Rex asked.

"kinda" I felt weird saying it.

"great I know a great restaurant next to my house. We will keep talking on the way."

"what if those demons attacked us again Rex?."

"Then we will run, how easy is that. Shall we Mike?."

Rex opened the door for his house yelling:

"It's a new adventure Mike, a new adventure."

He is kinda a weird person. And he is also a demon, which is scary as hell to me. But I think I never been able to talk or hear someone talking to me the same way as Rex did. I think he feel sad deep down his heart and he got tired of being alone for a while. It's just like looking at myself in the mirror. Maybe I will have to accept the fact that my best friend could be a demon.
